 Well, ive played a lot of mass effect 2. And since a few weeks i'm unable to play dlc on disc 2. It states that the disc is unreadable and i should clean it with a cloth. Ive done this many times but it does not work. i'm pretty sure its broken, Fortunately disc 1 works still fine for dlc but it is becoming annoying. But it makes me wonder if i buy a complete new disc
set, will I be able to play my already existing characters? Ive got them on my hard disc, but to be honest i have no idea if it will work. I was not sure if this is the right forum to discuss this but it seemed the logical choice.

You're just changing discs if you buy another copy; you can still use your save games. As such there's no need to worry about losing your current save games.

EDIT: depending what you mean by 'broken', if it's just scratches then you could just have it repaired. But if the disc is cracked then you'll need a replacement.

I don't think it is your game it may be the new update. Try clearing your system cache see if that doesn't work

Try a lens cleaner for the xbox.....sometimes it gets dirty...Also, this has happened to me, I got a disc repair kit, I spread some cream on it and rubbed it in, it worked after that, good luck.
