I love to argue.  Normally, I would be all over a thread like this purely for the fun aspect of a good back and forth discussion... however after going over the list all I can do is shake my head...  Batarians raid Palaven?  Are you kidding me?  I can't really get into most of the points I see presented in the google doc.  There are only a couple points I could make, and remember I haven't read this particualr book yet, though I plan to!

1)  GIllian's Autism  -- If she "got over" autism, and autism is something that people cannot "get over."  Clearly she was never autistic in the first place.  She was misdiagnosed.  Perhaps her initial diagnosis was incorrect, possibly even created as a cover for her strange behavior.

2)  Quarian names -- Was using the second name done by a human or another quarian?  If it was done by a human, it makes sense... Some people call other people by their last name.  If it was done by a quarian... well, that might not make much sense unless one quarian was trying to annoy the other.

8)  Gillian being tormented -- Being ignored can be painful to anyone, nevermind an already isolated child.  It is much harder to believe that a bunch of little kids ignored one "weirdo" than they singled her out for mean comments where she couldn't help but overhear them, or they did mean little kid things when no one was looking.

13)  Chora's Den -- It reopened?  

24)  Kai Leng on Kar'shan --  Kar'shan might be closed in the same way that North Korea is closed... some people can get in and out, but very, very few and only those with good connections on the other side of the gate.

30)  Gillian enters Afterlife  --  Maybe it was a quiet night, or maybe the bouncer assums all human females are just that hot.  They might not know.  All you humans are racist, so who knows, maybe the bouncer was too.

Yep. The ending, though, gets murky. The dialogue is especially jumbled and I'm not too clear who does what. 

But even so, with this book (and with ME3's character fates that change depending on player choices) all of Drew's plot points are toast. There's no viable way to continue the series with these characters.

Sad to see the total and epic destruction of what was left of Karpyshyn's contribution to ME.

So many failures that a simple trip to Mass Effect wiki could've fixed.

Drew Karpyshyn is in no position to do anything about it.

Its the higher ups like Casey Hudson that need to be contacted.

I know he can't do anything directly.  But he can speak up and make it clear with Hudson and co. that he feels his characters were mistreated.  He can ask to take control back.  And he can request that this bull**** gets ret-conned.  And a thousand emails from us saying the same should move this along.  I can't believe what I just read about characters that I've thoroughly enjoyed following.

Quarians are reffered as this by Dietz himself in text and funny is, that he more then once explaining structure of quarians name in bracket behind name.

Gillian was autist hidden inside her world, he even speaking once in Ascencion, that she preferred getting food to her room then be with other people in cafeteria. The ignoration should be probably possitive thing for her.

(Then again, that would also mean that Karpyshyn didn't do the research on either one.

Sounded pretty definite earlier that she has autism. It was Dietz who screwed up, not Drew.

Just dropping in to register my disgust at the sheer scale of these errors.

People "getting over" lifelong medical conditions? Sure! Why not? It's not like that's incredibly offensive or anything.

And when they're not offensive, they're just downright stupid - we've got people coming back from the dead, completely screwed up continuity, massive biology and technology fails, and just...

....ugh

I'd love to hear a justification for Gillian being 18 and not autistic, Hendel ogling asari, turians vanishing from Palaven and a batarian slaver vessel having a top secret drive system. That's not even mentioning the timing issues. 

Although I'd wager there's some regret about certain tweets. The ones pertaining to fact-checking and reading through Deception in particular.

ME1- Mainly scientifically sound with a few "wuts" thrown in
ME2 and beyond- Oh forget it, MAGIC.

It saves them from reading the book themselves. Painful but not as much as buying the book itself in hopes it'll be good.
