No amount of macros, gifs, and Red Lantern blood vomit spewing pics can sum up how I feel about this.
I hear you. I've never felt so compelled to lash out at anything gaming related as much as this, which, knowing me, is quite a big deal. And yes, I've had my share of being less than pleased at things BioWare has done in their games and whatnot. But nothing came quite as close as this did. This is where I draw the line.
It hits specially closer to home when you write yourself, I guess.
Ditto, except with Hendel.
It seems less deliberate than excising Gillian's autism to fit the story, and more like sheer ignorance (because, hey, everyone likes asari bewbs amirite?).
I *hope* that Dietz just misunderstood her condition, or there was a miscommunication, or something. If he (or Bioware, even) deliberately chose to make her "get over it" because it was too much bother to write the story with an autistic protagonist - or if being autistic didn't fit the "kickass biotic revenge girl hunting TIM" story model, I'd be pretty scathing.
As it is, even the way it's described is... unfortunate.
There had been a time when the combination of anger and grief would have been her undoing. But she had grown since then and learned to use hate as fuel for her talent.
She had been a very unstable twelve year-old when they fi rst met.
