Freelancing never works.

Freelancing should work, but people in BW didnť know, that there si hierarchy of freelancers.

1) Great writers
2) Good writers
3) Average writers
4) Poor writers
5) Unalphabeted writers
6) Dead writers
7) Vogons
7) Penguins
8) Stones
9) Pattern on my monitor when I sneeze too strong
10) William C. Dietz

I still don't think going after Dietz is the right way to go about things and despite my reaction at the book burning before (and still finding it hilarious that it just wouldn't burn at first), I'm not really crazy about the idea. At all. Just brings up many terrible things to mind from many a history lesson and from what even is occurring today. If you were burning it for warmth, ok. If you ran out of toilet paper, ok. If you have a puppy and still training it and need to cover the floor in case it doesn't pee in the designated vase, ok.
Doing it for the sake of it just makes me shiver.

Joe's in the middle of a combat roll.

Its madness.

This book has caused one of the most fun threads to post in in a while.

Bioware should have that book rewritten by a new author. They should pretty much change everything in the book.

I'm debating it. I was going to buy it, but after all this, I'm not so sure anymore. It seems like the type of thing that's going to be retconned. Like Wolverine. If the story was good, I might be able to look past the errors, but from what I've heard, it doesn't seem to have much going for it.

Its not a holy book of scripture, history book, or anything important, relax.

Its a lame ass follow up novel by a merc writer who did it for the money and exposure.

I wouldn't buy it on the UNDENIABLE FACT that its terrible, but if you really do want it, wait and see if it gets disavowed.

Well, technically that's not really re-writing, is it? :P No one in their right mind would try to salvage this.

Disavow the book and have Drew write a true following to it.

Oh I agree, but even Dietz needs to be held accountable for this kind of shoddy writing. There's making mistakes in something you haven't researched all that well and then there's just skimming over the details and making up what you can't remember as you go along. Plus the writing itself is just terrible.

Guys, why am I constantly getting the image in my head, Casey Hudson saying: "just publish the book, the fans will buy it anyways"?  :?

Because we haven't received a public response to the negativity yet.

I´d be very interested to hear what Bioware thinks of it...has there been any reaction whatsoever from them? Surely this can't go unnoticed?

I had been looking forward to a new ME book so much...and then we get this?...Depressing...
