Joe, you're truly on a barrel roll.

Anyways, we had this giant discussion regarding amps and implants, though this is how the book itself defined it:

The asari were natural biotics although some were
more skilled than others. But for other races, including
the krogan, turians, salarians, and humans, biotic
abilities were the result of exposure to element zero,
or eezo. And most if not all biotics were equipped
with implants called Bio- amps that served to amplify
and synchronize their talents. Such individuals were
classifi ed as Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3, according to
their strength and stability. Nick was an Level 2 and
had been working out at The Cube in hopes of qualifying
as an Level 3.

Implants called bio-amps? Reminds of level of competence of person called chairman Martin Burns. Last name is somewhat ironic, considering "purging" suggestions.

I know it's pretty funny to post reaction vids and all, but please refrain from having posts with only them for content. Otherwise the mods might get the image we have nothing else to discuss and shut this thread down. I'd like for this to keep running to get the word out to the biggest number of people possible (and I'm betting you would too). :)

I wonder if Chairman Burns would make that mistake.

The implants aren't called "bio-amps," by the way. Bio-amps are wetware that can be inserted and swapped out at whim. Implants are permanent ports.

No no. Gillian has to get back-alley surgury to upgrade hers. That's after the clinic on the Citadel refused to because they needed to run a full medical workup first. And she paid for the implant upgrade with Berylium slugs, which are THE MOST VALUABLE SUBSTANCE IN THE GALAXY. Oh man. I feel sick.

As far as I recall Inorganic Chemistry course which was 5 years ago, beryllium is toxic.

Yeah, we wouldn't want to have the thread locked. Overall, though, the discussion is quite civil and united.

And after two failed attempts she’d been able to hack it, thereby gaining access to a stash of Beryllium slugs. Each of them weighed about one hundred grams and was worth a thousand credits.

I think even Burns wouldn't stick his neck for these people. They're clearly mental, delusional, or both.

Gillian stepped behind the screen where she buckled the belt containing the Beryllium slugs around her waist before putting her clothes back on.

Now she's smuggling the Beryllium against her bare skin. WOW! I'm sure that won't cause any cancer or anything.

You are correct, this is from Wikipedia.

The commercial use of beryllium metal presents technical challenges due to the toxicity (especially by inhalation) of beryllium-containing dusts. Beryllium is corrosive to tissue, and can cause a chronic life-threatening allergic disease called berylliosis in some people.

So we have nice new Deception stupidity - Gillian wearing belt full of very toxic berrylium. No suprise she making such stupid decisions, she was poisoned by beryllium!

Well, at least he didn't go with the (doubled) cliché route of having her waving her omni-tool and going "WE CAN USE THIS!". :D

The belt containing six kilos of Beryllium slugs was dangling from her right hand

Now that is a very heavy poison belt.
