I found this comment to be rather funny:

I'm already getting a headache. However, given the response already, I doubt that we'll really have to worry about people complaining. We'll probably get compliments for keeping it off.

Right you are, my good sir / madam! :wizard:

I still think this book is like something an 8-year old would write for school. The way he references topics and staples of the universe is just so crass. It is a horrible novel.

Pee>Urinate/Relieve Oneself

Pee > Deception

Dietz used the word "pee" instead of "urinate" or "relieve oneself" like we're all children reading a storybook.

Thank you for saving me $8.49.

I have the first three books.  They're not that great.  But, at least they're readable.  As you know, the writing in this book?  Is complete crap.  I could gloss over the errors.  But, not the appalling writing.  I have a BA in English.  My former professors?  Would give this effort, an F. (for FAIL)

(Do you know how painful it was to write that?  How any "professional" author can write that tripe and be satisfied with it, I'll never know.  It's just terrible.)

I could have given my english major younger brother $200 and he could have written a better book the this. It's just horribly written.

ok as much as i really hate to defend anything about this book in any way i reread ascension and

gillian's autusim was never stated as what type she had but at the end of ascension it is stated on page 294
Quoteing somewhat from the book about gillian
"the mere fact that she grumbled and complained rather than mutely obeying was further evedence of how much she had changed.."
also kahlee had commented to hendle on how much improvment gillian had shown , and shard her theory that the suit might make the girl feel psychologically safe and more confident. hendel however had offered a difrent theory ....
" I think she's just getting better because cerberus isent drugging her anymore ."
the though was so disturbing , but kahlee was suprised she hadnt come up with it on her own. it was doubtful gillians condition could be blamed solely on what ever chemical concoctions jiro had been feeding her but it was possible they had made her symtoms worse somehow that knowledge made what grayson had alowed them to do to his daughter even more monstrous...

while this dosent explain her growing out of it if can explain her condition improving quite a bit....

Improving a bit is one thing. Having it completely disappear is another.

Guess what Deception did.

You don't "grow out" of autism, you deal with it. You can live with it, but it doesn't eventually turn you into an 18 year-old, female version of Zaeed with biotics. It's bull.

It's difference between getting better and cure from something. Autism can't by cured, you can only weaken some of symptoms. Gillian in Deception have no symptoms - he hugging people, plotting, eating in public restaurant, had no day regime and so on.

Apparently in this book you do. Maybe autism grows out with puberty. HA!

Still appalled.

I feel disgusted having that man corrupt what up until now had been pretty decent reads.

So if someone can pm me the list of characters who die in this book it would be much appreciated,...... I need to lament for those characters that were unfortunate to grace this book.

We should all mass tweet Casey.

If we all did it, I imagine he'd take notice.

I don't know if this is a good or bad idea but if you tweet ask if we could get something similar like Dr. Pepper promotion for ME2. I doing campaing with Kellog's Kai Leng cereals would surely boost sales to astronomical numbers.

I've been reading through this whole thread and it almost sounds worth buying this atrocity just to laugh at it.... But it also sounds incredibly painful to read haha
Can someone PM me the ending? I am seriously curious now

Some people just need to see and feel the overwelming pain of reading a terrible book themselves.

It's not enoughto hear something is bad. One must experience it!

Remaining positive(and I'm TOTALLY FOR POSITIVITY ON THIS FORUM) here is hard because we're expressing negativity for the novel.

Our best course of action is to not cross any lines with said negativity.
