(SPOILER) In the preview of the book the quarian cruiser Idenna comes under attack by a slaver ship and disables it? I thought the Idenna was a cruiser, which is one step below dreadnought as far as ship firepower goes. That must be some pirate ship to be able to withstand attack from a cruiser long enough to disable its engines and board it.
I think that might count as inconsistency if we knew more about the Batarian ship.
I need sleep so someone else must handle this but this could be disputed by the basis that Batarian slaveship
Also, Batarians going cruiser vs. cruiser match when they have valuable gargo on board already would be taking a very stupid risk.

I didn't expected this to happen, not in this scale but it's great. Let's enjoy about it as long as it lasts and then go picking each others to death about characters hair cololours, boobie droids and whatever after ME3 is out.

I'll give this a crack let me know what you guys think?
Kai Leng silently entered the apartment, careful not to draw any attention to his activities. He quickly locked the door behind him and before he stepped further into the apartment he made a note to take a mental picture of everything he saw as to ensure that if he had to touch or move something he would remember where it originally stood.
The apartment was the typical open style environment separated by a few walls and floor to ceiling glass windows. The glass was an older style semi-opaque panel that could be set to allow less or more light depending on various external factors or the owner's taste. From where he was standing he could see an elegantly styled kitchen on the right side of the room only separated from the rest by a wall with a classic vid fire place. In the centre of the room was a receding living space with two couches and a holo-tv on the wall. The bathroom and bedroom were off to his left separated again by the older style semi-opague glass.
Kai Leng began searching the room, purposely looking right to left. It was an old military trick he had learn during his time as an Alliance N7 Special Forces Marine.
"Our eyes are inherently taught to reading books, magazines, holo displays, everything left to right from a young age..." He remember his instructor saying.
"Studies have shown that we tend to miss things when we do this. As an N7 Marine you cannot afford to miss things."
He started in the kitchen carefully opening drawers and cabinets searching for anything out of the ordinary which given the nature of the individual who owned the apartment, Captain David Anderson one of the Alliances most decorated Special Forces Officer and a representative here on the Citadel, he might find anything. Sure enough Leng opened the door's under the kitchen sink and found an Alliance issued M-5 Phalanx heavy pistol attached to the bottom of the marble sink. A formidable weapon in the right hands. After inspecting it Leng was careful to place it exactly in the same position he had retrieved it from.
Leng moved to a desk near the living area. There was a holo-cluster on the desk, they were very common appliance in today's apartment's. Displaying the current time and date, room tempurature, air quality, calendar, notes and a few other custom settings. More importantly there was a vid message in the inbox. Leng looked through all four messages but it was the most recent one that caught his attention. He pressed the play button and stood back. A half-meter image of a young boy snapped into focus. Leng tilted his head, he knew this boy...
It was the same kid he'd used to help him capture Paul Grayson at the Acension Project on the Grissom Academy space station. He was forced to use him as a human shield and later as a bargaining chip to secure his escape from the facility. He rubbed the tender spot on his leg that he still had from where David Anderson had shot him. He would get his revenge, when the time came there was no measure to how fast and how hard he would bring the fight to Anderson and anyone else foolish enough to get in this way.
The boy said he had left to join some kind of group. "The Biotic Underground", in-order to try to change the way the Galaxy see's and treats the Biotic community. Kai Leng quickly put two and two together, David and Kahlee must have gone to C-Sec for assistance in locating him. If the kid was still on the Citadel he might be worth capturing again for the same purpose as before if an opportunity presented itself.
10 Minutes had passed and Kai Leng had completed his search of Anderson's apartment. Aside from the pistol, some clothing that he believed belonged to Kahlee Sanders a woman he had encountered back at the Grissom Academy and the message from the boy nothing else peaked his interest. He quickly triple checked everything he had touched, referencing it's original position and then he discreetly placed a small monitoring device just above the holo-tv in the living room. It would provide a wide angled video image of almost the entire apartment.
He left the apartment as quickly as he'd entered, none was the wiser to his presence. Just the way he liked it, out of sight, out of mind...
So what do you guys think?

That's just great. I think you've got some serious talent, just some minor tweaking and you're ready to conquer the literary world!
And now, we just need to do the same for the rest of this abomination...

AAARGH! I just came to think that if Batarian slave ship was Dreadnought but then Batarian dreadnought (without escorts) might enter in Turian space but it would never come back. Also, sending dreadnought in Turian space would have been practically declaration of war.

Im hoping Casey realizes soon all the continuity errors in the book and maybe comments on it. Casey knows the universe inside out, surely he won't be happy with all these errors.
There hasn't been anything yet apart from Chris saying to not post links to the full version. That's fine and all, but since then, nothing. Absolutely nothing! Not one dev, not one person in any position of authority! We all know that the devs will scan the forums on the weekend, yes they have lives too, but usually when something gets this big, they have always make a comment. Even if it is just "We will have a statement on Monday". So far, nothing. We need someone with authority, Walters or Hudson would be the best, to make something of this disaster. 54 major canon issues, and more than a fair share of them throw three games, three four-issue comic series, tree eight-page comics, and three novels worth of canon out the window.
I'm betting that Casey and Mac didn't read the final version or they would have said something to the author. Still something official, or really anything from one of the devs would be nice. And not "it's a great book". Actually, it wouldn't be nice, it is needed.
That or BioWare plans to upend canon for ME3, yet I distinctly remember that the Spec Ops trailer has quarians in suits.

Didnt anyone at Bioware get a copy for review before It was released? The erros in the book are hilarious.

Implants of various types were common on Omega, the Citadel, and throughout known space. And many of them were custom-made according to the requirements of the individual customer. So seeing them was an everyday occurrence. Still there was something shockingly unexpected about the zoom lens that protruded from Nix's right eye socket.
I'm not sure, but did you see some implants on people during games? I have suspicion that Dietz mistake them with holografic vizors and such thing, don't remember any implant in game.

I'm not to hopeful on a response from him because he tweeted back in august he though Kai Leng was such a badass. I hope he was reading Retribution instead but he said he was reading Deception.

The other three books are pretty decent. I've read them all and enjoyed them while acknowleding they are not great pieces of literature. Mistakes are minor and even the so call canon choices tht are mentioned can be easily handwaved away and aren't that upsetting in the first place. I liked Ascension and Retribution better than Revelation but it seems most people prefer the latter. Either way all are enjoyable enough.

The funniest thing right now is seeing the wiki editors discussing whether or not Deception should be added to the wiki. I wouldn't want to be in their place. Those poor fools don't know what they got themselves into, hahaha!

Appreciated. My opinion there as it is here, is that we chronicle it, for the purpose of core info, but lock it in it's own little observation room where we can study it and learn to combat it.

I think it should be posted on the Wiki so people can learn from mistakes. As of right now its still canon with a horrible story kinda like Mass Effect Galaxy. Not an entirely entertaining game but still canon.

To put it in terms of Sports, and I will use Hockey for an example. This recent book is in the three year old pickup game on the local pond, and they were playing baseball because they were confused. Drew Karpyshyn's books were in the NFL and actually knew what they were doing. Considering that Revelation, written by Karpyshyn was released before the first game was, and the canon was maintained, that says something.
