IDEA!

we, the community should write our own book that revolves around the same events of Deception, but is more accurate and canonical way.

folks there is only one solution... we need to immedeately come to the consensus that this book is no longer canon in anyway, shape, or form!

No, we don't. BioWare is the one that needs to come to the conclusion that this book is no longer canon, for Mass Effect's sake.

This. We can say its non-canon till we're blue in the face(unless one of us is asari in which case i dunno), but we NEED Bioware to confirm it for the franchise.

1000 writers a good book does not make.

As I've mentioned before, this book is pretty much firmly been shunted into Fanon Discontinuity - we just need Bioware to follow suit.

fine, we will democratically (using polls) vote for 10 people to work on the book.

Do you not recall the FemShep fiasco? Voting leads to GPIUANFUIFAPIHAPF

Oh no, god no. It has not been shunted into just discontinuity. It's gone so beyond that into the realm the things nightmares are made of and the reason kids wet the bed.

I don't really get how this guy messed this up so badly. I mean, I understand a few mistakes, but honestly, this is ridiculous. It's not like he had no material to work with: two games, three previous novels, codex entries in each game, an entire wiki, etc. How do you get hired to write a novel but don't bother to do your homework?

I would just have everyone write their own interpretation - then we send all of them to Bioware, yes even the joke haiku ones.

yeah... the people here arn't the greatest representation of intellegence (they didn't like blonde so they chose a ginger?)

Fine, I offically declare myself the dictator of the "Re-Write Empire of BSN" and what I write is canon!

Is what you just wrote canon? Because I don't support entering an empire into canon.

Gregarious piling in ubiqtuious arragements negating further usage in frequent advantageous pieces inside heavily adorned professional flow charts?

Yeah - the result ends up being bad every single time.

So, what was worse? The lack of autism, The homosexuality switch, what issues really drove some of you mad?

Gotta go with the autism, with the homosexuality at a close second. I mean, it was genuinally refreshing to see a writer tastfully write characters that weren't cardboard cut-outs. They were real characters.

The Autism.

Dropping that whole thing and the way in which it was dropped was dumb.

Also - the almost total destruction of one of the most awesome bad guys to ever grace a novel - he will now be famous for Breakfast at Andersons.

The Aria bits drove me up the wall. I mean, honestly, Aria wouldn't be that incredibly stupid...

Seriously, Halo: The Flood is a masterpiece in storytelling and lore continuity compared to this. Not that it was too bad. I honestly don't think Dietz even cared about this. He probably didn't play the games or read anything in order to get a better understanding of the Mass Effect universe. He was excited enough about Halo to give the game a go and it showed in the writing. Deception is just horrible.

A. I have divine right of rule over everybody.
B. What I say is canon and nobody can change it
C.I get an early copy of ME3 within the next 2 days or the world shall end.

Hence missing Drew's writing. It was of much higher quality than Dietz's.

How about having an extended family of over 100 members all with the same FAKE NAME?

Indeed, I remember picking them up from an airport bookstore for something to read during a flight on a whim. They genually kept me interested in the lore and characters and kept me excited for the games.

This book is AN OUTRAGE, etc, etc. I'm still confused as to why, though.
