So, what was worse? The lack of autism, The homosexuality switch, what issues really drove some of you mad?

The Aria bits drove me up the wall. I mean, honestly, Aria wouldn't be that incredibly stupid...

How about having an extended family of over 100 members all with the same FAKE NAME?

That part was HILARIOUS for all the wrong reasons!

I'm not really the biggest Aria fan, but I just find it ridiculous that her turned her from this:

To this:

It's like he removed the autism from a character but he had to balance the universe somehow and Aria had to pay for it by becoming mentally handicapped.

This book is AN OUTRAGE, etc, etc. I'm still confused as to why, though.

Once you read it, all will become clear.

Well, many of the mistakes about the Quarians really burned my @ss (being a fan of the race and their culture, those were pretty damn hard to read through), along with the numerous f***-ups regarding the Citadel Council.

EDIT: That said, the age changes, removing a character's autism, and completely changing a character's sexuality are massively stupid-bad. :pinched:

Well there's these things called lore facts and characters, and they didn't show up for work.

The absolute worst at this point, and the reason we're all still posting about it is because of the tone-deaf, completely out-of-touch attitude Casey, et al. have had about the pending release of this book.

Either everyone who had a hand in this book, including approving and reviewing it provide a MAJOR mea culpa, or we'll know that each and every one of them don't care about this franchise/IP as anything other than a meal ticket, AND that they see their fans as drooling, incompetent three-year olds that can't tell when someone's phoning it in. If there aren't serious apologies, then we'll know they think we're idiots, and having that knowledge sucks.

I can't imagine playing ME3 knowing what the people who made it think of me.

As someone with a sister who is severely Autistic, I'm really hurt that a writer would make a character say some snot like, "Oh, I grew out of it." No. You don't grow out of Autism. It's a disorder that nobody grows out of. Ever. After 20 years of living with her, growing up with her, feeding her, and partially raising her myself alongside my parents she hasn't improved at all. She still has the mentality of a 1 year old, the vocabulary of someone younger than that, and the social skills worse than a 2 year old's. Sure, some people might grow out of other disorders like "Social Anxiety" or "ADHD" but Autism is incurable. If Autism isn't curable by 218X, you darn well can't "grow out of it."

Maybe this was all a bit unfair for me to say because my sister wouldn't be able to understand this conversation, much less cry about it because of her Autism... Actually it might be fair; because if she was able to "grow out" of her Autistic phase in 3 years, she would've already been talking to me about how hurt she would be about a science fiction book.

Confused as to why it exists in the state it is in, not why it's become the solitary BSN-uniting force in recent memory.

The austism issue just leaves me dumbfounded, I could almost forgive the Hendel's slide into heterosexuality if he wasn't currently the only gay male in the ME universe (ME3 doesn't count yet, shutup!:P ) but since this is a issue close to my heart I want to trample all responsible into the dust for this error. Taking a favorite character like Aria and turning her into an idiotic weakling urge to RAEG RISING!!!

And the whole ending. That is just the kicker. Those would be my four main issues.

There's also the chance they're so busy on ME3 that everyone who was supposed to review it assumed the other people who were supposed to would take care of it, and just said it was fine without giving it much of a look.

And now everyone is trying to figure out what went wrong with the "let someone else see if it's production worthy" plan.

Wait, wait, wait...he actually wrote that she "grew out of" autism?! He actually wrote that down?!

No, seriously, Dietz has to be a pseudonym for Stephenie Meyer. There's no other explanation...

If he was, he would have already caused ragnarok out of pure rage.

Actually, he's really Dietz in disguise attempting to tank his writing career to concentrate on his real hobby. Miniture figurines.

Are birds the minions of evil?

(The answer is yes.)

And the Hendel thing is explainable, since his sexuality was only referred to in one line - while Gillian's autism was a ****ing major component of her character.

I'll admit that is a possibility, but the more likely scenario was that in the culture of ass-kissing involved with large corporate structure, no one was willing to stick their neck out and tell advertising what they really thought of the book.  Too risky.

Also, don't give them excuses.  There is no excuse for this abomination.

I've contacted Dietz and one other person but frankly I'm almost loathe to give out some stuff, people need to behave like decent people.  That's doesn't mean one can't express how disappointed they are but it has to be kept resonably polite.

I don't mean you speficically but in general, don't wanna seem like I am lecturing you,

And Yuouman trust me Hendel's whole sexuality issue is more than just one little thing, this is just another piece of straw made of lead, placed on the back of a camel who hasn't been feed in years and is 3x over capacity already.

Oh, oh another possibility! Maybe they thought it was a practical joke, and that Dietz had gone to extensive lengths to form a fake book for them to review, and sarcasticly replied: "Oh, yeah, the story is AWESOME...haha...go ahead sell it"

And are currently in the middle of drafting a company policy on the use of sarcasm in business.

Perhaps this book was meant to be released on April 1st but was rushed.
