I've contacted Dietz and one other person but frankly I'm almost loathe to give out some stuff, people need to behave like decent people.  That's doesn't mean one can't express how disappointed they are but it has to be kept resonably polite.

I don't mean you speficically but in general, don't wanna seem like I am lecturing you,

Normally I would agree with you, but unless we are talking about some seriously heinous, un-called for **** involving his family, I'm okay with people harrassing him enough to make him give up writing for game franchises altogether.

There are people starving every day who can't find jobs, and this ****head gets to make money writing with zero talent and zero professional standards.  Karma needs some ballancing out.

So, just to be clear, it is not appropriate to release a 4chan raid on this guy the likes of which we have not seen in along time?

Yeah, I feel like Bioware is the only place our outrage should be expressed at. I'm certainly not going to help Dietz sell books, but it's not his universe. It's belongs to Bioware. The buck stops with them.

I agree. We need to remain civil. This book is offensive, yes, and in more ways than one. But it hasn't physically harmed us - at least, not beyond feelings of repulsion. :P Let's let our criticisms ring true without tainting our goals with the foul e-stench of such actions.

So that's what the other 'P' stands for.

The possibility he actually thought he did a decent job representing the mass effect universe still, surprisingly, exists. If so, he may currently be mulling and trying to figure out how he could ever face the community again after the embaressment. If so, yes it would be highly inappropriate.

Actually no, the LP is just random as hell lettering.

You know, like the Deception novel in its entirety.

You mean besides the fact that 4chan probably doesn't give a damn about the BSN or Mass Effect in general?  Yeah, he's probably not worth it like the US government might be in a year or so.

I originally thought it stood for "Let's Play", but that would have been silly.

Do not discuss piracy of any sort do not respond to any such posts, Bioware is looking for any excuse to shut this thread down.

It was once theorized if a money typed for an infinite period of time at random, it would eventually produce Shakespeare's plays

It was then decided a test was needed.

Results: Disastrous. (Used as a Synonym for Deception).

As someone with a sister who is severely Autistic, I'm really hurt that a writer would make a character say some snot like, "Oh, I grew out of it." No. You don't grow out of Autism. It's a disorder that nobody grows out of. Ever. After 20 years of living with her, growing up with her, feeding her, and partially raising her myself alongside my parents she hasn't improved at all. She still has the mentality of a 1 year old, the vocabulary of someone younger than that, and the social skills worse than a 2 year old's. Sure, some people might grow out of other disorders like "Social Anxiety" or "ADHD" but Autism is incurable. If Autism isn't curable by 218X, you darn well can't "grow out of it."

Maybe this was all a bit unfair for me to say because my sister wouldn't be able to understand this conversation, much less cry about it because of her Autism... Actually it might be fair; because if she was able to "grow out" of her Autistic phase in 3 years, she would've already been talking to me about how hurt she would be about a science fiction book.

Very well said Raf.

Very well said. And I hope to GOD Casey or some other Biowarian reads this.

I agree, exceptionally well said. And I do too, honestly. It really is pretty offensive.

Thanks. Just my two cents is all. :)

It never states that she isn't a biotic, but then again it never states that she is, what with her never using biotic abilities and having weaker biotics protecting her.

I'm of the opinion that they sprung this entire thing on Dietz and gave him an afternoon to write it. Also, they gave him no access to lore beyond a thirty-second summary of the universe. Oh, and they chained him to a monkey in a padded room with nothing but a typewriter and a bucket.
