The more angry members of the BSN were probably thinking this after reading the book.

I think I'm gonna use that.

Its how I feel.

I'm of the opinion that they sprung this entire thing on Dietz and gave him an afternoon to write it. Also, they gave him no access to lore beyond a thirty-second summary of the universe. Oh, and they chained him to a monkey in a padded room with nothing but a typewriter and a bucket.

That's when he got all McGyver on them. He switched places with the monkey, tore the bucket into such small wooden pieces as to resemble fur briefly, and stuck them into his own body. He then escaped and realized they had put his name on the novel the monkey had created.

F&+*! I hope Bioware decides to make this book noncannon. Its a discrace.

If it stays canon, it needs a rewrite

If it stays canon, it won't be rewritten.

This needs to be disavowed for sure.

We need a whole new novel written in its place.

We're so close to 200 pages all together that I can taste it.

It tastes like disappointment.

I just read this as "asari air-kissing involved.."

I may have a problem.

I did too. Its not our fault, its the fault of Deception for having asari style air-kisses.

Is this going to be considered canon in ME3? Because I'm seriously concerned a biotic-less Aria and a Cereal-eating, lame duck Kai Leng are going to ruin the story.

Thing is, it *can't* stay canon. Logically, it can't.

It doesn't fit anywhere in the ME timeline, unless we strip all references to ages and dates ("two years after...") and assume it takes place vaguely before ME3.

But then, you have fifteen year-olds doing (and suffering) some pretty awful things.

Mass Effect: Placation

The hit sequel to three award winning books and one unfortunate cousin who we no longer talk about.

How many exact pages was the last thread on when it got closed?

After reading both the preview and now the rather detailed list of errors in the google doc... I can only really express my reaction to this whole book as..

That's why it needs to be disavowed.

I know a lot of people have problems with Mac's works, but I would rather pay money for something he hammered out in an afternoon than Deception.

Trust me, it's not.  (hell, it's not even canon to the Invasion comic series, which takes place after Deception) <_<

ME's writers are too talented for that to happen. And if it means anything, the tidbits of ME3 leaks I've read have shown the writers to be as good at their craft as they were in the previous installments.

If I buy the book when it comes out and rewrite it and you all like it... will you all accept it as canon?

(I am literally planning on rewriting it!)

IT'S A BETTER IDEA THAN FREELANCERS, THOUGH.

****IN' FREELANCERS.

(See, I was making a reference... to Garrus' recruitment mission... with the freelancers...)

So this is going to be the random black mark on the series that occupies a strange half-reality somewhere between the official canon and the craps the writers took during the development period?

Yes, I too look forward to the misadventures of Kitten Grayson and her merry band of friendly furballs.
