I think his point was that no, it looks nothing like an orb, so Dietz's description sucks. Like everything else.

Maybe Omega looks like an upside down bong.

Well, he was probably smoking something............must've had a really bad trip.

No, he was only reading his previous work.... and it was really bad trip.

Yes it does...but that does not change the fact that the procedure is used...also asking for a Security Team to be present is ALSO part of the procedure...if someone does NOT ask for one...they become suspisious.

I always imagined Omega more like a board pin. Or a really warped mushroom. Or a screw.

A few quick encouraging links, two from wiki blogs, and one from an unrelated blog helping get the word out about this fustercluck:

1. Future of Mass Effect

2. Deception Out, Response Abysmal

3. Before you buy 'Mass Effect: Deception'..

Off to work.  Someone please PM me if anything significant happens.
Thanks.

Edit: All of the above links were found on the first 2 pages of google search, so that's encouraging....sort of.

SMH. I'm starting to feel bad for him.

He was trying so hard. So hard it's painful to read.

Or maybe he wasn't and somebody should slap me.

Shame...that picture of him that someone posted made him look bad ass...I have avoided these forums ever since a friend told me the Scripts were leaked...as I refuse to be spoiled again...the Garrus reveal in ME2 was totaly ruined for me as a result of spoilers...I won't let that happen again. But Kai Leng sounds outrageously lame in this book...as much as I HATED HIS F***ING GUTS in Retribution...he was not like this...so hopefully in ME3 he is more like THAT...then THIS.

"16. Biotics are told to have different levels in their Biotic abilities - There is no such thing, there are only different types of implants, such as the L2 and L3 implants for humans."

This is wrong. Not every human boitic shares the same strength. Some human biotics are more powerful than others. The entire ascention project was about getting the most potential out of human biotics. The previous books also made it clear that only the more advanced human biotics could use attacks such as 'singularity'.

However, Deception might be the first book that actually used numbers to categorize the strength and level of a biotic. But that's not really an error or retcon.

The wording of 16 might be a bit misleading, but it is not wrong.

In the book, Dietz describes as people being "Level 1/2/3 biotics", and describes how, people can "advance" to a higher level with enough training. This is false, as you youself said. Different individuals have different biotic potential. Training/amps can help you hone your abilities, but Nick "stopping at the Cube to train so he can some day become a Level 3 biotic" is bull.

Dietz seems to have misunderstood the use of L2, L3 ect. (as in implants), and that's where the error comes from.

That's a fair point. I guess I just misunderstood error 16. You're right.

I see there is pondering in about error #60 in Google doc.

The problem is that there are so many time line issues, but that one should stay in. I can't spoil Invasion but anyone editing can visit ME Wiki and notice that it's impossible to happen after the events of Invasion.

"29. TIM's hideout -  in Retribution it is written that TIM is hiding on a space station, which changes location after every visitor including Leng. Now TIM is on a planet and stays there after Leng's visit."

Not really an error. TIM could just have changed his hideout. He did so between Ascention and Retribution. During Ascention, TIM's hideout was on earth in the penthouse of Hislop Aerospace's building. So between Ascention and Restribution his hideout also changed. I don't see why it can't change again between Retribution and Deception. No error here.

Well, biggest problem is that in Retribution is written that TIM changing location after every visit from outside, including Leng, which was written there too. Now he staying on one place after his visit. There was also mentioned in Retributon, that his spacestation is mobile to serve this purpose so why he suddenly dwelling on planet? What happened to that command station? It looks that Dietz mistaken command station with research station hitted by turians, co he moved him to planet.

It's strange indeed, but not an error. TIM had a single location as his hideout in Ascension, so I don't see why he can't have a single location as his hideout in Deception.

I agree that it's strange to switch back to a single-location-hideout, but it's not a retcon or an error. I think point 29 should be altered or removed completely.

Guys, I need a little help with number 60.

The thing is, we don't know when in the timeline this fits at all. This could be after Invasion, for all we know. (Oh, and inb4 "This isn't in the timeline!" yeah, we know!)

Also, in Incursion, despite the Blue Suns having the deal with the Collectors, which she clearly disapproves of, she still allows the Blue Suns to stay afterward. The same thing could happen here in the case of Cerberus. Given, it's a much more serious (if personal) offense to her, but I don't know how far she'd let this slide if the profits from Cerberus were keeping Omega running. Then again, some group or individual as rich and powerful could easily take their place, and I'm sure there's no shortage of dodgy people willing to do so.

Given that she realizes Kai Leng was the one responsible, she could just as easily mount a manhunt for him and leave the rest of Cerberus alone. Right?

Also...ME2...Illusive Man clearly never changes his location...as he is always in front of the same star....cleary he isn't on a planet...but the station isn't moving...even after Miranda visited in the beginning...always the same star behind him.
