Let me try again:

Ascension takes place two months after ME1. This is explicitely stated in the book.

and according to Deception:

Deception takes place two years after ME1.

Deception also takes place 6 years after Ascension

Let me ask this question, since it was brought up recently in the errors list that Kai Leng was supposedly part of the "Alliance Marine Corps" (which do not exist at all <_< ).... was Leng's ties as a former N7 soldier mentioned at all in Deception, or was that "Marine Corps" crap the closest thing we get to it?

I think the latter...he assumed N7 was the same thing...even though EVERY soldier is a Marine...and theres no seperate Corp for them.
