Drew's books were decent at best, but they are f***ing masterpieces compared to what Dietz shat out.bennyjammin79 wrote...
At the end of the day, nothing in the book REALLY has any effect on the game. So yeah, I'm just going pretend I never read any of it. And to be totally fair, while they were more factually correct, Drew's books weren't any better from a literary standpoint either.

They were at least good for lore dumps bridging to the next ME games.

Oh, yes, they were. The plots in Drew's ME novels actually make sense, he does little things like bothering to set plot points up ahead of time instead of just going "And then the quarians gave her a ship" or whatever, and he doesn't make his characters behave randomly just so he can force some silly event to happen. And Dietz' prose is clearly far, far worse in so many ways.

sad thing is Bioware won't have it rewritten, doesn't make sense from a financial pov and having it declared non-canon won't occur for at least a few weeks, for the same reason.

67. Kai Leng enjoys watching an asari dancer, going so far as to wink at her
- This is the man who in Retribution was completely uninterested in Liselle’s nudity, thought of asari as “whorish”, and found the sights ofAfterlife disgusting.
I didn't read this one. gold. Dietz just know how to kill a bad and very racist character. XD

Someone needs to go back, find Raf's post about his autistic sister, and post it again.
That Guy Raffy wrote...
As someone with a sister who is severely Autistic, I'm really hurt that a writer would make a character say some snot like, "Oh, I grew out of it." No. You don't grow out of Autism. It's a disorder that nobody grows out of. Ever. After 20 years of living with her, growing up with her, feeding her, and partially raising her myself alongside my parents she hasn't improved at all. She still has the mentality of a 1 year old, the vocabulary of someone younger than that, and the social skills worse than a 2 year old's. Sure, some people might grow out of other disorders like "Social Anxiety" or "ADHD" but Autism is incurable. If Autism isn't curable by 218X, you darn well can't "grow out of it."
Maybe this was all a bit unfair for me to say because my sister wouldn't be able to understand this conversation, much less cry about it because of her Autism... Actually it might be fair; because if she was able to "grow out" of her Autistic phase in 3 years, she would've already been talking to me about how hurt she would be about a science fiction book.

Drew's writting is excellent for mass effect, we don't need either literature for a video game support and that's not what want the companies. If you expect to read something as awesome as other novels, that comes from you.
Even gaider's writting isn't really good, if we compare to other novels. But excellent for a video game support.

Did you ask if we could get ME3 promotion with Kellogg's, Kai Leng cereals?

Don't forget, it's not that he never mentioned that she had issues.
Hendel laughed. The sound was muffl ed as he
pulled the helmet over his head. It was, Gillian reflected,
a very different type of conversation from the
adult- child interactions so typical back at the Grissom
Academy. She had been a very unstable twelve year-old
when they first met. Now, some six years
later and thousands of light- years away, the relationship
had matured. It had been difficult for Hendel,
but bit by bit he’d been able to evolve away from
stern authority fi gure to something more akin to a
wise uncle. And she had grown as well, both as a person
and a biotic, although she still had a tendency to
lose her temper. But so did he.
So, it's just that according to Dietz, autism == anger issues.
Also, you guys are posting at such a rate, it's hard to keep track of. About 10 pages per hour!
(Oh, by the way. There was a post way above in which an image was removed according to Rule #2 of the website, so I'm certain mods are keeping track of this. Thought I'd mention that.)
