At the end of the day, nothing in the book REALLY has any effect on the game. So yeah, I'm just going pretend I never read any of it. And to be totally fair, while they were more factually correct, Drew's books weren't any better from a literary standpoint either.
Drews writing looks like pulitzer winning stuff in comparison to Dietz work. There are just so many things off in so many levels in Deception that it's difficult to explain.

Someone needs to go back, find Raf's post about his autistic sister, and post it again. That Guy Raffy wrote...
As someone with a sister who is severely Autistic, I'm really hurt that a writer would make a character say some snot like, "Oh, I grew out of it." No. You don't grow out of Autism. It's a disorder that nobody grows out of. Ever. After 20 years of living with her, growing up with her, feeding her, and partially raising her myself alongside my parents she hasn't improved at all. She still has the mentality of a 1 year old, the vocabulary of someone younger than that, and the social skills worse than a 2 year old's. Sure, some people might grow out of other disorders like "Social Anxiety" or "ADHD" but Autism is incurable. If Autism isn't curable by 218X, you darn well can't "grow out of it."
Maybe this was all a bit unfair for me to say because my sister wouldn't be able to understand this conversation, much less cry about it because of her Autism... Actually it might be fair; because if she was able to "grow out" of her Autistic phase in 3 years, she would've already been talking to me about how hurt she would be about a science fiction book.
That needs to be read by EVERYONE.
This. Demeans a character and thye real life sufferers.

I didn't read this one. gold. Dietz just know how to kill a bad and very racist character. XD

"10. Aria T'Loak never uses her biotic abilities, nor are they mentioned - Aria is a very strong biotic, but in Deception she never uses her skills, and it’s implied she needs her bodyguards to to do things like put up barriers and deal with biotic attackers."
And then I serious'd at:
"17. Hendel Mitra is described as ogling asari strippers, a very heterosexual reaction - Hendel was established as homosexual in Ascension."
So hi. I'll just settle in and watch everyone rage while continuing to read the list of failures that piece together this "book."

I just looked on Dietz's personal site and he published another book from his own series on 1th November. Well, it's obvious where all his care and work went.

Not surprised. Deception's not getting much attention out there right now. No hype or anything.
Wonder why...

Then wait till then. All the work is taking place here, we need as many people here posting as often as possible.
Keep things flowing, keep the info out there.

I seriously hope BioWare see this.
It's one thing to blow holes in the lore and the timeline, it's another entirely to feature such offensive content - regardless of how it managed to creep into the book. Between this and Hendel's "straightening out", I'm at a complete loss for words.

Hey, a character in a novel should be just as real.
