How would they know who looked at it? Do you mean linking it?

Some got banned for linking, but I never linked it.  I asked for a keyword to see a specific quote by PM, to see if something was true and would justify my order status, which is the stated purpose of the Google Books extended previews.  Previews which mean the publisher SPECIFICALLY agreed to allow such previews.

People are being overly sensitive. There's nothing to be offended about. It's a character in a badly written sci-fi novel, calm down.

A character in a science fiction novel with a real-life condition, that has been completely swept aside by the author's complete lack of understanding of said condition and who has utterly rewritten the character herself from all previously established lore of the series, all for the sole purpose of making her a "normal" heroine with anger issues who's out for revenge on the man who killed her father.... <_<

Mass Effect: Redundancy by William C. Dietz

Commander "Deadeye" Lee stepped out of the six wheeled Tantalus-class Taxi before it raced off at relativistic speeds of 250000 s/K per C. The Commender, being a M7 Marine, looked around to check for quarian spys.

"Damn gas breathing, no face havin' beggars" he muttered to himself.

"Ghost Ship Blues"

The whole ship was giving Ceilty Vas Defans a odd nagging feeling, she could've sworn she heard an echo of voices that sounded like her quarian mom and human dad arguing.
"But they're gone, died during the Geth/Quarian war five years ago" she explained to noone aloud.
"Hey! Hand me that Omnigel Hammer" yelled Smith at the old Delphi class Engine room.

Well, original Star Trek was only a TV series but when first afroamerican actress in role of Uhura suggest she leaving, Martin Luther King personally asked her to not do it, because she become too important for common afroamericans as symbol of better times.

ME books maybe aren't literal masterpiece, but sensitively described autist in main role who isnť restricted in "Rainman" clisché, should have same importance for people with autism or autistic relatives. So don't making harsh statement if you aren't in such position.

Considering his blatant disregard of the lore, he probably didn't even knew of Gillian's condition in the first place.
Same for Hendel and the ressurected Quarian.

I'd rather argue in favour of ignorance than malevolence.

A character in a science fiction novel with a real-life physical condition, that has been completely swept aside by the author's complete lack of understanding of said condition and who has utterly rewritten the character herself from all previously established lore of the series, all for the sole purpose of making her a "normal" heroine with anger issues who's out for revenge on the man who killed her father.... <_<

I wasn't defending Dietz. It's horrible written, and the fact that she's 'grown out' of her autism is just as absurd as you describe. But I just don't see a reason to act all offended about it. The book is... not good. No need to be so damn sensitive and go all like "omg everyone needs to read this", when the entire book is filled with errors and weird characters.

If some highly educated person went on tv and said the same thing, sure I could understand. But being offended over a novel, that a very low number of people is ever going to read. Calm down.

Ignorance is pretty malevolent when you're getting paid to create a good product.
