When they realize absolutely EVERYONE who's read it hates it, they sure as hell will.

/God, posting in this thread is so much more impactful with the Hard Rock station of Pandora on.

Okay, I've only read three paragraphs so far, but I already feel like I'm picking up on how to write like this.
"Kai Leng was walking down the Las Vegas strip, when suddenly he suddenly came to the realization that he didn't like walking down the streets of Las Vegas strip. It wasn't just the tacky looking theme casinos, the homeless people living in the storm drains, or the immigrants on the sidewalks handing out strip club brochures, which were pornographic in nature, meaning they show bare breasts. He hated the people themselves because they did not follow the same religion as him, following religions other than his own or no religion at all. This made him not only a bigot, but a religious person."

You're getting it.

Yus! How many points do I receive?

We give out gold stars here.

Well if for one thing, the only guy who tried to protect it saying he'll judge when he's read it (Hello Man) has also revoked his opinion and turned towards the unified loathe. :P

Thats because Twilight was catered to the people who would eat it up.

Deception was catered to people too intelligent and mentally strong to give in.

Catered or not, it still has actual fans.

Deception was apparently created as a form of assisted suicide.

It's simple. Occasionally one must test their audience to see if they are still paying attention to what they are being sold.

The mass effect audience is still paying attention.

OH HELL YES.

Otherwise we wouldn't be going through a new page in less than 10 minutes each time.

Always good when the fanbase pays attention, ya know. It's a shame when things like this slip under the radar because no one cares anymore.

You'd be surprised what you can sell a sleeping audience, I think!

I bet this reaction is overwhelming the hell out of them.

It should, at least.

I doubt bioware will do something. They'll ignore this epic fail story, hoping good sales and that's it. At least, that's what I believe !

OP is now reasonably up-to-date on contributors. Lady Amell has created a discussion group I've gladly agreed to link when I get home later, but as it stands I'm using my limited cellphone features to work. I can't copy hyperlinks like this. Sad face.

Okay, where can I buy this? I MUST read this novel.

You WOULD want to read this, bobobo.
-your nearest bookstore or online retailer of novels.
Also any nearby trash bins, but only if you know nearby Mass Effect fans who disapprove of lore breaks.

Sweet, maybe I can find someone on this site who hated it enough to give me their copy!

I doubt that even with all the rage going on, none'll have the heart to do that.

Also, current fail-to-page ratio is now at a outstanding : 4.7 phails / page. Keep up the good work guys/gals !
I propose the introduction of the Dietz scale of literary proficiency, where 0.0 = grand work of art and 1.0 = ME: Deception (or 1 Dietz)

In fact one guy burn it. On video. Yesterday. Posted Image

#54 on the list isn't really a mistake. It's more of a nitpick with no basis in fact. While it's true that 90% of their population is male and females are indeed powerful figures within their society, there's nothing to suggest that an individual female wouldn't go off and become mercenary as opposed to being a salarian ****** dumpster.

I'm not a group kind of guy, so make sure to leave me out of any invitations.

I wonder if Dietz even played the games... In any case, if I were him I'd go apologise to BW and refund as much of my pay as possible. It's not ethical to accept money for such shoddy work.

I would think so. I mean, sure, pretty much every single think they add, take away, or design has defenders and opponents...but this book has proven to be undefendable. If Johnny Cochran were hired to defend it in court, he'd give a refund and tell it "good luck"

One would hope, perhaps optomistically, that moments like this serve as a quality check that renews a creators attention to detail.

Perhaps when a universe gets as big as Star Wars...and it's near impossible to track everything that is "offical". But Mass Effect is still new in grand scheme....and small considering the amount of current content when compared to something like Star Wars. But with an IP still at this level...it's pretty damned hard to miss.

I'd agree with that.  There are plenty of errors in this, but let's not go overboard.  There's a female salarian agent that Grissom (or is it Anderson?) talks to in Revelation, I think?  Might be rare, but some of them are probably going to venture out.

He got some little specific details right, and EVERYTHING else wrong.

Everything wrong.
