This is why I don't read expanded universe books. Because one writer writes something and then an entirely new writer says "nope didn't happen in my version".

It's equal blame, Dietz agreed to do a job, has even given others advice on how to properly do tie-in games novels and failed to do so. Bioware is supposed to guard it's lore against such hack jobs.

Both failed equally.

I mean this amount of errors isn't acceptable for a first draft!

Wow, that list of errors is severely embarrassing. It's like the whole book is completely wrong. I thought Revelation was pretty weak but this is a disgrace. They shouldn't have released this trash. I read another Dietz book before (I think it was Halo) and it was also crap.

God forbid you develop the characters through their actions and thoughts, then allow the readers to conclude who these personalities are and what they stand for.

But you see, Dietz has to explain to you directly that Leng's a racist, otherwise you'd have no previous context as for the character's sudden OOC BS action of actively flirting with an asari stripper, cause hey... "Everyone loves the asari", right?

I guess if you imagine "eighteen" to read "sixteen" things would make more sense... but there are plenty of other errors in the preview as well....

Not to accuse Dietz of being a hack (haven't read his stuff and have no opinion), but otherwise I have to agree. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Patryk Garrett hired because of the artwork he did as a fan? Wasn't there a poster in the FemShep thread (I can't remember who now) who was offered a job interview because of her fan videos? Why not, then, publish some of the good stuff on fanfiction.net, such as Interstitium?

Don't get any crazy ideas, though. This doesn't mean I'll play the games or anything.

Don't know if someone else has made the comparison, but I can't help but think of TNA Impact when thinking of this book now. 

Think about it. 

They have old wrestlers you remember from way back when who were once good characters.  Not great, maybe, but good.  But when they've gone to this show, the writers write their characters in the most asinine fashion (UN)imaginable.  You know their names.  You know what they look like.  And yet they are COMPLETELY different.  Almost unrecognizable. 

There are storylines that are built up for weeks.  You get into it and are looking forward to its resolution.  And then, BAM!  It's gone.  Replaced by something a 5 year old would say is stupid. 

There are heel characters that turn babyface instantly and vice-versa.  Because shut-up-they-just-are-deal-with-it . 

Sometimes a wrestler will change their mannerisms for no discernible reason.  Anyone remember Bubba-Ray Dudley back in the WWF when he first got there?  He struggled to speak without stuttering.  Then after a while it just...disappeared. 


You know what?  I'm calling it.  Right here.  Right now.

Vince Russo is fine as long as someone has him in CHECK. If not, he goes crazy. Hence, I don't watch TNA. I watch WWE.

WWE being Drew's books and TNA definitely being Dietz's.
