So, for the organization of the Doc I'm thinking of doing something like splitting the list into sections like: Technology Errors, Character Inconsistencies, Lore Errors, and Timeline Errors - or something like that. Anyone else have thoughts on the matter?
Anything that makes it more "professional"

You know, with the official release so close...I bet right now, out there in the world, a certain somebody is contemplating whether they should sticky this thread or start a new one
If a certain somebody does make a new thread I hope someone from here willing to keep their post updated manages to grab the first reply. I doubt I'd be up early enough to do so but I'll be watching just in case.

Wow the Volus Mask problem just pissed me off. This book is ****!
Dietz seems to have gotten that from Revelation, and didn't bother to check further. At the time it was written, volus did use breather masks instead of full exosuits. By the time the first game came out, however, they'd changed them into the roly-poly mini-Vaders we know and love.

If you could organise (in their gategories) in the order they appear in Deception would make things easier, like finding them and adding page numbers later.

Idle thought: maybe they should consider splitting the list into two groups: actual errors (such as the quarian Ugho being alive in Deception when he died in Ascension) and discrepancies (Kai Leng attacking Gillian on his own with no backup in Deception when in Retribution he had a squad of Cerberus agents, and other stuff that isn't outright wrong or impossible).
I second this - it will stop a lot of the objections of "sure, it's unlikely but not impossible".
All I can say is WOW:blink:. I'm not exactly a literary critic (my idea of good fiction comes from Matthew Reilly, Tom Clancy and Lee Child) but even I found Deception pretty hard to stomach.

I'll agree as well. Divide and Conquer, afterall.

Benjamin, improbable or impossible, which it's going to be? You are changing your argument.
I'm not changing my argument. My wording yes, but not the argument itself. It comes down to the FACT that nowhere in any ME body of work does it state that salarian females don't ever go off world and seek other professions. I agree that it'd be extrememly rare to see a salarian female merc but it's not an impossibility.
And not an error.

As long as you put links to each section, then sure, it would "help" a lot.

Yeah, so its easier to comprehend and check, especially for Biowarians.

You're not getting it. The problem isn't that she's out there, its that no one cares.
They act like its normal. Like its not something that's rare as hell and shocking.

But wouldn't having played just one of the games, let alone both, corrected that. I would think playing both games would be a requirement to write the novel. It's like how I'd be worried about someone writing a Star Wars novel without watching the original trilogy.LPPrince wrote...

Dividing it would be fine in the same Doc, with the right formatting everything should be spiffy.

I agree with that though.
He should've been made to play the games, thing is if he's doing it against his will or doesn't like the games, he won't be emotionally involved like Drew was.

Now that would be funny. Even funnier because the Destiny Ascension IS huge.

Errors
(Errors would be things that are absolutely wrong and have evidence that can be found in previous works, like the games and Drew's novels.)
*Technology
(Errors involving the portrayal of technology and biotics and the like that don't match up with what we've learned in the past.)
*Characters
(Inconsistencies in the characterization of established characters.)
*Timeline
(Any errors related to the messed up time scale that this book is quickly becoming famous for.)
Oddities
(Errors that are more ambiguous, and can't be conclusively proven to be errors, but are still wrong - example: Kai Leng not having a squad with him.)
*All the same categories.
