Honestly though. You know some of them have to be absolutely LIVID.

Why do I get the feeling Drew Karpyshyn is flying to Dietz's home in Washington with a sharpened toothbrush hidden on his person?

It's interesting that the mods have essentially stayed completely out of this thread. I've seen maybe a couple edits here and there, but it's basically untouched.

All of them are smart enough to know it's a travesty. Mods and users bombarding a new product with hatred would be an awesome sight though.

One mod was here already shaking his head at the amount of errors found in Deception.

Fear.

FEAR.

That or they were told specifically NOT to say anything.

I bet they may be waiting till it's out to say anything positive (Lol, keep fooling yourself that it's good guys) or negitive (which is highly unlikely). Or they will not say anything at all or wait a few weeks or months.

No, they're waiting on the OK from up above in Bioware's high side of the food chain.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I'd film that if I were up there.

As long as there was no violence, and he just walked up to him with it and screamed, "REALLY!?"

This must be horrible for Bioware.

I bet Dietz doesn't give a damn though.

I imagine he's very worried about finding work again, and wishing he'd actually done his homework on Mass Effect. If he's decent he'll refund as much pay as he can afford.

I remember way way back in this thread (earlier today) Javier said the errors were shockingly bad or something to that effect.

You know I'm feeling a little sorry for Bioware. First Microsoft dun goofed with the leaks, now Dietz did this to them.

Well, I am too, but they brought this on themselves. The Microsoft thing I was completely out of their hands as far as I know.

Microsoft fumble was Microsoft's bad, not Bioware. Bioware just got unlucky as hell.

This though is a joint screw up between Bioware's bad judgement and Dietz's bad writing.

Any time someone spells fear with all capital letters...

I wonder if the threat of Alma would make someone say something.

Someone get on that. ^_^

My theory is that Dietz came up with some sort of story, then as he said, Bioware went over it line by line. Which means, they gave him a new story, possibly also included the crucial ending events.

And I think Dietz did not like their idea, and this is the end result. I think Bioware did not specifically tell him to include the toothbrush, and it's just the sign of how much he didn't really care in the end, but wanted to finish it according to what he was given.

I can't imagine the thought process that lead him there, though...

Also, nice avatars LP.

Lol, I'm picturing him barging into the editors office an then throwing the book at him an going "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" or rather "WHAT HAVEN'T YOU DONE?!"

Hopefully, ME3 won't have a scene where Shepard returns from the Normandy, only to find a empty cereal bowl on his table.

Javier is a community mod. He's no different than me and you except he's got a moderator tag. No difference.

Its different if Chris, Stan, Jess, John, or any other actual employees stepped in and said something.

Hell, I'll throw Karin, Patrick, and definitely Drew in there.

THEY matter.

Indeed they are and your right they certainly dont glow.  As I said I can only judge the comment by those three words as I have not read the book.  If luminous or similar words have been repeated several times thats fair enough.  If its only appeared once I would just say its a poorly used adjective to describe him.   One poor use of an adjective seems a bit pedantic and would push what I would consider cataloguing a lore error.  That would just be gramitcal oversight in my opinion and nothing more.

Still as I said if its used more then once I retract that statement of course.

Hmm, I'm inclined to agree that it's not bad enough to be added to the list - and therefore might weaken the credibility of the document as a result... Unless the angle we're going for is, "we dislike this book so much that it's gotten to the point where even tiny things like this annoy us."  Personally I don't even see it as a bad metaphor - if their eyes were matte black I'd agree, but they're smooth and moist, and therefore slick and shiny, so it's not necessarily bad. *Shrugs*  Granted, to someone who's never seen a salarian, something like, "...big, [black,] luminous eyes..." would've been more helpful.

They need a deception easter egg in ME3 now, just to make fun of how bad this book is...

About part of item #32 under Lore Errors -

Dark Star Lounge being on the 28th floor of a skyscraper might be correct. I recall loading screens in ME2 showing your shuttle flying from or to a specific skyscraper when traveling between locations on the Citadel. Also, the part of Zakera Ward we walk around in, which includes the Dark Star Lounge, could be said to fit in a single building.

I know I could probably have let this go, but I'm a know-it-all. It would torment my very soul if I kept quiet.:P

In a future DLC then, cause I want NO DELAYS.

Even for the funnies.

Especially with the destruction of the Mass Effect Franchises' lore.

This is SO BUSCH LEAGUE.

Ugh.

I'm actually now really looking forward to ME3, if only because once the game's been released, I can finally add an error to the ever-growing List that is seriously driving me up the f***ing wall (based on what I've read in ME3's leaks), but I can't say anything about right now.... <_<<_<<_<

I'd like to know how we could get, say, Kotaku to do a "How not to write a videogame tie-in novel" piece. They've covered adverse fan reaction to various things before.
