No sense arguing about it, but what you are writing is naive.

Even if you get an official statement on anything it will be just a pile of hollow words to make feel better about yourself and shut up. Sad story. Realitypunch.

Ahh yes. Other territories.

They really came through with that one.

I'm sitll quite bitter about that whole thing.

I was up at 3am to watch that countdown reach zero.

You know I'm feeling a little sorry for Bioware. First Microsoft dun goofed with the leaks, now Dietz did this to them.

It's not entirely Dietz's work.

Bioware had creative control over much of what he wrote.

The final draft of the book was reviewed 'line by line' (in Dietz's words) by Casey Hudson and one of the other higher-ups, probably Mac Walters.

The prose is all Dietz, but the lore issues? Those are Bioware's responsibility.

Yeah, someone's lying there for sure.

Gotta wait for ME3 but then the battle will commence.

Leng will never be as awesome ad Jensen in the CGI trailet

I believe I've read few a books from Dietz before. I don't really recall them being bad. Perhaps not great, but certainly nothing like this. I believe he wrote the Star Wars: Dark Forces novels and those were actually good as most Star Wars books go. If his writing was typically like this I don't think he'd have a profession as a writer honestly. Actually  I'm far more inclined to believe the people who should have been helping him write this novel didn't. And or that he was forced to rush out the book. That or he's off his rocker for some reason.

He wrote it drunk. And on vicodin.

I read through the 50 page preview, and the error document. All I can say is WOW! Did the author even read the books that he is writing a sequel to?

Also, can someone pm me the ending? I want to see how bad this train wreck is.

I usually don't support the burning of books... but I understand why he did it and... BURN BABY BURN! ;)  (Renegade action + 5 points)

I'd say both +5 Paragon and +5 Renegade! We're not doing this just for the single purpose of bashing after all. B)

Fair point.  My disappointment in the book is exacerbated by the fact that I actually enjoyed Halo: The Flood, Dietz's other game based book/tie in.

Sod it, I'm rewriting the prologue. First chapter too if I have the time. Just for me: it will feel like an exorcism of some sort.

Someone beat you to it, Joe.

But yes, almost anything on that site is better than this travesty.  No matter the errors, the writing itself (with its juvinile language and cereal eating shenanagans) is all on Dietz.

Someone else PM this dude please. I've PM'd like ten people with the same thing in different words in the last half an hour.

Leading the charge is hard, damn it.

Oh, thank god; I've more than enough ff responsibilities.

Hahahaha, I was gonna say we have just a little over an hour and a half left.

I remember initially telling people today that we had to wait like 16 hours or so.

Time flies when you're having fun.

I believe that Mac Walters is actually an inteligent person, and as such, I refuse to believe this theory. That, or he stopped giving a damn.

Yeah, Kusy's already accepted that the writing is abysmal.

Didn't sound that way to me. My point is, there is no excusing him.

In any case, I'm off to bed, just too tired.

Hey they don't call it redsand for nuthin', ya know.

But I'm semi-concerned that rather than being put to sleep every night, the sandman is drugging me.

Dietz didn't say Walters and Hudson reviewed it line by line. He simply mentioned them on the acknowledgements page. The "line by line" thing was from a response to an email and didn't specify who was supposed to have done that.

Not fair to those who haven't read the book but actually WANT to.

All five of them, somewhere in the void...
