Four score and seven seconds ago our developers brought forth on this internet, a new book, conceived in crayon, and dedicated to the position that all consumers are created fools.

Now we are engaged in a great backlash, testing whether that book, or any book so error prone and so clumsy, can long endure. We are met on a great internet battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that
internet, as a final resting place for the lore and characters who gave their lives that we might live through them. It is altogether fitting and proper we should do this.

We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in the forum, we shall fight on the blogs and journals, we shall fight with growing disgust and growing shame in the air, we shall fight whatever the cost may be ($7.99), we shall fight with our wallets, we shall fight with our words, we shall fight with our meme's and alongside cereal killers, we shall fight on the wiki;

We shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not believe for a moment, this thread or a large part of it were subjugated and deleted, then our posters beyond the URL, armed and guarded by the sane of mind everywhere, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New Book, with all its sense and lore, stops forth to relieve the weak and the replacement of the old.

I have a dream that one day we shall not know of sharpened toothbrushes and the books will live true to the meaning of its creed: "We hold this lore to be self-evident, that all characters are maintained equally"

His name is William C. Dietz.  I would like to point out that his other game based work, Halo: The Flood, was, in my opinion, pretty good.

Are the sex scenes as painfully adolescent in Dietz's work as they were in Karpasyn's?

William C Dietz is, in my opinion, not a particularly good writer. I've read the first four Halo novels and "The Flood" was easily the worst. In fact, I like the Eric Nylund books quite a bit, but Mr Dietz's book was completely uninspired.

Special thanks to Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill, and Martin Luther King, who shared their inspirational hatred of this book!

 Alright, two things

First: this has been great, but it is midnight, and I have to get some sleep, so I must bid this thread adieu.

Second: check out the motivationals that Joe linked to,  they are great.

Good bye and good night y'all, I will be back tomorrow in the hopes that there will be more... well, everything that makes this thread great. :)

Both comparitively and on its own.  I enjoyed it, but that doesn't mean everyone else will.  Ok, I really have to be going, so, good night.

The thing that frustrates me the most about this book? Obviously, spoilers:

Gillian is a character I knew until now as a troubled twelve year old with a talent for Biotics. She's a little girl who is coming out of her shell, helped along by the buffer created by living among Quarians in full suits.

In this book, she literally murders dozens of people. This includes one scene where she kills another human girl in cold blood. Shoots her point blank in the head. It's so bizarre.

Did Dietz think that people who liked the character would be on board with this? If so, he needs to do some serious work on getting in touch with his audience.

Alright, alight. I amend my conclusion. Rocks fall, everybody not having sex dies.
