Gotta love the sequel hook there with a character Dietz introduced.

No wait! Suddenly she's an 18 year old who grew out of Autism! She's also a Power Level Three Biotic! She's unlocked all the moves!

I'm just in awe of this whole thing. Especially now after seeing the spoilers.

I also managed to dig Kahlee's little memorial service out of Google:“There,” she said, as she stood. “They were troubled people, but each was trying to do something good, even if they went about it in self- destructive ways. I’ll miss them.”
Anderson nodded. “Well said. Come on . . . It’s a two- mile walk back to the hotel.”This is a joke.
SPOILER CITY
Once Anderson
was done Kahlee placed each sapling, covered
its roots with rich black soil, and watered them in.
“There,” she said, as she stood. “They were troubled

Anderson nodded. “Well said. Come on . . . It’s a

Exactly, but Dietz changed her to 18 and not autistic and thought no one would notice.TheCreeper wrote...

Then I started reading this thread, and decided I did not want to read it anymore.
But then, something happened. After reading some of these quotes, it became SO ridiculous and over the top, that I am now back to wanting to read it, just for the lulz.

She's got a Power Level of three. She must've spent a lot of time training with those Quarian biotics <_<

Someone get on that regards this book.

“Mr. Mitra!” Nick exclaimed. “What are you doing here? You
killed Marisa!”
Fighting raged all around and Hendel was dimly
aware of a ground- shaking BOOM as he propped
himself up on his elbows. “Marisa? Was she your
girlfriend?”
“Yes, damn you . . . We were going to get married.”
“I’m sorry,” Hendel said. “But you brought this on
yourself. Remember what Kahlee and I taught you?
Those who use their biotic powers to hurt people will
pay. It’s just a matter of time.”
“You bastard,” Nick said through gritted teeth.
“You rotten bastard. First you kill Marisa and then
you have the balls to claim that it’s my fault. Goodbye,
Mr. Mitra. You can preach to the people in hell.”
“Where is Gillian,” Hendel demanded. “Is she
alive?”
He saw the spark, but didn’t live long enough to
hear the report, or feel the projectile smash into his
forehead. Nor did Hendel see one of T’Loak’s Level 3
adepts smash Nick to the ground. Their bodies lay
two meters apart.

Oh, you would not know that this character was suppose to be autistic from reading Deception, not unless you were familiar with the previous novels... Gillian acts AND thinks like a completely normal girl throughout this novel, the only explanation regarding her complete lack of autism in this book is that she had "anger issues" as a 12 year old and that she "grew out of it". <_<TheCreeper wrote...

Nope. Nick's trying to qualify, so he can become a level 3 biotic. he's only a level 2 when the book starts.

Nick was an Level 2 and
had been working out at The Cube in hopes of qualifying
as an Level 3.
The gym, if that was the right word, was located on
a dimly lit commercial thoroughfare and identifi ed
with a glowing sign.

What the...that's...the most useless, unfeeling, poorly-written death scene I've ever had the misfortune in reading. The dialogue is so akward in and of itself to make me squirm in my seat, barring any of the other crap surrounding it.
