Here's the cereal scene, in case you haven't searched it up yet.

Working with the speed and certainty of the experienced
operative that he was, Leng placed the pickups
in locations that, when taken together, would
provide complete coverage of everything that took
place in the apartment. Then, having placed a wireless
tap under the comm console, he was done. Or
should have been done. But Leng was something of
an adrenaline junkie and enjoyed being where he was.
That’s why he checked the cupboards, located some
cereal, and had breakfast before putting everything
back exactly as it had been.
It was his apartment now,
meaning a place where everything that happened
would be known to him, and to Cerberus. The thought
pleased him and Leng was still smiling as he left.

OMG. That is... it is magic. It's so much funnier than I imagined it was. Thank you for posting it!

What the heck is this thing with a toothbrush, anyway? Can someone PM me the ending. It sounds *incredible*.

My heart goes out to all who actually bought this.

You think we should deliver the message that novels like this aren't what we want by NOT buying it.

At least, that's what I'm doing. I bought every ME novel before this one.

Please, please, listen to what we're saying.

It might be funny now, but if you have even a smidge of respect for Mass Effect, do not buy this. It will send the wrong messages. For those of you who are already locked into buying it, I guess there's not much you can do but, if you haven't bought this, then don't. Just please.

Amazon. Itunes. Barnes & Noble. Probably other ebook stores.

Same. Voting with my wallet and hoping for the best. I was so looking forward to adding a fourth ME novel to my rather massive bookshelf but I can't support this.

Anywhere that sells e-books should have it.

I'll refrain from purchasing it though. It seems so horribly written.

I don't condone downloading it without paying for it. If you want to read it, pay for it.

If you're afraid its bad and don't want to pay for it, wait for the ME wikia to have an overview of the plot.

Please refrain from any and all allusions to what you just mentioned in this thread. It will become locked and offending parties will receive suspensions.

Since Jeff and Didy already said what I tried to allude to, I'll carry on-

Anybody got the munchies for cereal after reading about the Cereal Killer?

I am not hungry for breakfast cereal in the slightest. I had French Toast this morning.

Speaking about French Toast, how about that Dr. Michel, ehh?

I'm trying to remember if she was mentioned in the books.

Finally found the itunes link for anyone who actually wants to pay for the book we all already hate rather than downloading it from some dodgy site.  itunes.apple.com/gb/book/mass-effect-deception/id493287045

Expected release date 2/2/12?  Why 2 day delay?  I don't often (ever) buy ebooks. Is this normal?

As horrible as the book seems to be, it has ONE redeeming quality, maybe TWO-

1. The Cereal Killer meme
2. We're universally despising this novel

Funny how things bring people together.

Challenge:

List what you percieve to be the 5 worst sentences (from the extract at least)

I don't believe she has been in any of the novels, but I could be mistaken.

Love the way she says "that's st-yew-pid, even for him". That pronunciation is ace. Really drives home Fist's stupidity. I think it would have been nice to see her in "Deception"; I would imagine she would have plenty of opportunity to reuse that line.

I really like the cover, I guess that can be a redeeming quality too. The cover was what made me excited about the book in the first place. Now I think It's the only thing in the book I actually like.

If you're asking me to go back and look at it again-

No. I had my "fun".
