I added my B&N review too.

I literally signed on this profile after so many inactive years just to get in on this action.

Thanks!

If were gonna take this book down, we need to build alliances! Gather everybody and everything we can for the cause!

I know..

I half expect them to just start doing it in the council chambers or somewhere like that

However, if we get to see her in ME3 and she's hot. I fully understand Anderson's actions.

I will only forgive him if she looks like this.

So let me get this straight....

After Kai Leng gets tried by an Alliance court for his murder of a krogan on the Citadel (which, according to this book, he managed to do while half-drunk...), he and another woman are sent to a prison complex called "Misery" - where there are no cells, no kitchen facilities and NO GUARDS (who are all off-site and observe the prisoners kill each other for kicks).... where the inmates re-enact a society straight out of Lord of the Flies where it's "a self-governing facility run by the prisoners themselves" and the only thing keeping these convicts from escaping is a 30 foot electrical fence surrounding the facility.... this is the place where a random stranger from the "outside" randomly meets up with Leng and recruits him for Cerberus?!?

Dietz, YOU FAIL ROYALLY. <_<<_<<_<

I was going to say "that doesn't look like someone in their mid to late 40s" but this is Mass Effect.

Dude, I wish, cause even my brain can't wrap around such an utterly stupid backstory like that. :pinched:

The relationship with Kim went back more than
ten years, to the brutal prison on Misery, where every
day was a battle to stay alive. There were no cells, no
kitchen facility, and no guards. Not inside the thirtyfoot-
tall electrifi ed fence anyway. No, all of the
“tools,” as the prisoners referred to them, were outside.
All cozy in their fi fty- foot- high observation tow-
246 William C. Dietz
ers where they could watch the prisoners kill each
other off without getting their high- gloss class- A
combat boots dirty.
Because Hell’s Half Acre, the name given to it
by the inmates, was a “self- governing” facility run by
the prisoners themselves. All of whom were human.
That meant the stronger inmates were in charge, the
weak were forced to join gangs in order to survive,
and so- called tribes were in a state of perpetual warfare.

WHAT THE HECK? KAI LENG WAS AN ALLIANCE SOLDIER. THE ALLIANCE HAS LAWLESS MURDER-PRISONS?

He must have seen someone playing Batman:AC and thought he could copy and paste that into the book.

Mass Effect Fields! :wizard:

Indeed. That is the answer for everything. Come to think of it, mass effect fields probably had something to do with how horrible Deception is.

You don't get N7 class soldiers without breaking a few eggs. Or lore.

Lore eggs.

Some of these excerpts have me glancing at the calendar. I keep expecting to see April 1st but nope it's January. Bioware couldn't have done any Q&A on this book. If they have, I can't imagine what it was like before.
