Come to think of it, was Deception even needed at all?

He has a tendency to be quick with novels and it seems they wanted this novel out before Mass 3 launched.

Which makes me believe that the book was just something they came up with and never had planned.

Ascension's plot line didn't need a sequel. At all.

But we got Retribution afterward...

Is he implying it's unnecessary? I knew I shouldn't have bought it! Probably as bad as Deception!

Intrestingly, Amazon's favorite 5 star reviewer is up to 64 reviews posted today, and it's only 7:22 AM EST. I wonder if we can make Amazon remove that 5 star review somehow, as it's pretty obviously completely bogus.

Honestly, it pains me that anyone could praise this book, even if it is some marketing shill.

Amusingly, she claimed to have read and reviewed a book by Australian author John Birmingham that deliberately named a character "Harriet Klausner".

She didn't notice a character who was named after her.

But I'm sure she's read all 64 books that she's reviewed today. Why would someone lie about that?

I don't even know why someone would waste their time just 5-starring 64 books in one day. Clearly has nothing better to do.

Stated before- No life.

Hence the obvious answer. Posted Image

The first three books at least ADDED something to the story.

This did nothing.

Well, what are you gonna do, people will just end up doing what they please.

But hey, more reviews mean more attention.

You bring up a good point on the "secure drops," but I still find it highly unlikely that one of these "secure drop" areas is on Omega. First of all, Kenn was robbed blind on Omega, thus was stuck selling salvage. Ascension also makes it pretty clear that Omega is not the place quarians go unless absolutely necessary. Omega just isn't quarian-friendly in general, so no quarian would go there if it could be avoided, much less try to drop off something potentially of value to the Fleet there.

I think Kenn provides the most evidence here: a quarian on pilgrimage wouldn't stick around selling scrap metal if there was the slightest possibility of getting aid.

I mean, even a free ride on a quarian ship doing a supply run (in this mystically-invented Omega storehouse) would've been enough to get him off-world.

Plus, what about Lemm from ME: Ascension? He was going to rescue the Cyniad's crew, SURELY he would've approached the quarian enclave for aid.

Tried to catch up and read up but eyes kinda blurred after I reached 160 so I'll just assume that it contains posts by users who had their dreams crushed in a similar way to the rest of us when this all began. I'm also guessing that the list of errors has now exceeded 60.
If both of these things have happened then I am pretty pleased. Also, I've seen that some hack reviewer has given this hack novel a 5 star review so I'm not pleased. Yikes.

Which was spawned based on Ascensions story, and while I admit that it closed off some loose ends, there was no need to introduce another novel based on the same story.

They could have might as well written that Gillian never found out about her father's death because of her long journey on the quarian exploration ship, because if they had been out for five years, ME3 would have started (and probably been over and done with) well before they came back.

Nope, and that's baffling. They could've explained Kai Leng's condition and the Cerberus soldiers' Reaperisation with one line of dialogue from a scientist in ME3 ("The Illusive Man must be messing with Reaper tech! Some of these soldiers don't even look human!")

Literally nothing changed in the universe, except that three of the novel characters were butchered.

Deception could never have existed, and we wouldn't know any less about ME3. Deception could never have been written, and nothing would've changed in the IP, plot-wise.

I will admit, I liked the novels a little less with each new one.

All were good, but progressively not as good as the first one.

Basically, if Revelation was the number 10,

Revelation-10
Ascension-9
Retribution-8
Deception-The sound of gargled balls

It's pretty common knowledge the "reviewer" (I use that term so loosely, it keeps falling off) doesn't read these books as much as just skims through them.

thor the game took g4tv's worst game award, knocking out the aquaman game for the wii in its 10year winning streak. it was pretty bad.

anyone else slightly startled at kotaku's intimate knowledge of the bioware boards? jeanluc's texture thread, the tali-thread's sweat diagram...this..its mildly disturbing.

It added money to their bank account. At least that was the idea. But with all of this trouble the loss of ME3 sales may end up costing them more than they gained.

Luls, aside from Deception, I gotta admit my scores are the other way around. I found them getting better especially by Retribution, though I'm a little tied between Revelation and Ascension as to which was better.

That's pretty much my rating as well.

If it was worse it'd have to be downgraded from sound to feel, smell, sight, or worst of all, taste.
