For anyone who hasn't already done so, please hop on over and write your own review, or at the very least thumb up the existing reviews on Amazon. Remember, anyone with an Amazon account from any country can log into any Amazon site and contribute.

Amazon.com

Amazon.ca

Amazon.co.uk

Also, for these two sites you can rate the book without have to write a review. That would be much appreciated as well.

Barnes & Noble

Chapters Indigo

If you're gonna do something bad, might as well not half-@ss it.

Same thing Dietz was thinking.

Must have been...

Makes sense to me.

Sure, why not.

*Double facepalms*

I am reminded of the IP of Star Trek being handed over to a certain director... *Prepares to be pelted with rocks*

But that is a different topic for a different thread.

Uh...No. This is a pretty good indication that something went very wrong in selecting an author to replace Mr Karpyshyn and ongoing supervision of the IP of this ONE book..

Uh...No. This is a pretty good indication of whether or not BioWare even cares enough about the IP anymore.

Honestly, you did enough with the book burning. Hah, anything after that was icing.

Amazon.com needs special attention, due to this fake 5 star review:

exciting military-political science fiction
The Reapers starships have entered the galaxy where earthlings have joined other alien sentient races mostly in harmony (see Drew Karpyshyn entries - Retribution; Ascension; and Revelation). As they have done for every fifty millennia these bellicose outsiders have come with one purpose in mind; "harvesting" the organic.

Earthlings and their allies have tried several ploys with some success at the immense collateral cost to the innocent in order to prevent extinction. Former Navy admiral David Anderson and his partner ex Council Director Kahlee Sanders have proof the Reaper threat is genuine, but the Council members refuse to accept extinction is a viable event. While the leaders remain in denial, The Illusive Man, head of top secret military unit Cerberus, learns the pair knows too much about his operation. They must die. However, the beleaguered couple meets Gillian Grayson, who suffered hideous experiments that have left her with incredible power. When she learns the Illusive Man killed her father Paul, she obsesses with a bone marrow deep need to execute him.

As with Mr. Karpyshyn's entries, this exciting military-political science fiction tale, based on the Mass Effect game, contains strong timely moral questions. The action-packed storyline asks the audience to ponder when does personal need supersede the greater societal good and whether there are scenarios in which not executing a cold killer who deserves to die is needed to save trillions of lives. Filled with action, fans will relish William Dietz's first Mass Effect galaxy thriller.

Unfortunately amazon.com doesn't seem to care about her. This has been going on for years. There are groups that monitor her, so I wouldn't be surprised to see this review show up in their evidence pile. But its a very large pile.

If they don't care, they don't care. Ignore it.

I just hope BW has the decency to admit they dropped the ball on this one. I'd find it a bit superficial if they attempted to use it as a PR schtick to say "we weren't able to give it it's due diligence, because we were too busy making ME3 the best possible experience..."

Not that I wouldn't appreciate any hard work they put into the upcoming game, as much as the next fan.  I just wouldn't want to see it as an excuse to insult us with this ridiculous 'product'. (if one even would want to call this book that)

I'm totally willing to write this off as a one-time example of an overworked executive producer and writing team half-heartedly looking over the draft then reviewing it for publication, despite the novel contradicting itself regularly and the established IP well over sixty or seventy times.

But I'm stll baffled by it, and it's still one time too many..

It would've taken many people on these forums a few hours to read through and note the major errors in the book. Heck, I'd have done it for free. A trip to the wikia, or possession of Bioware's internal information, might've prevented most of them in the first place.

I'll give the benefit of the doubt until my face turns blue, sure. But I can't forget that Deception happened.

An apology isn't really going to help them whatsoever, so we'll see.

That looks like the codex entry for Drew´s books in ME2.

...which is a solution to get Deception out of the way. Say it is an in-universe book written by the ME version of Dan Brown or the like.

Oh well. At least my 1-star is at the top of the pile. Was very happy to see that, since I was not able to pump it up in here last night before the forums went down.

I'd love to see this done with sentences that start with "And" or "Something".

The novel has a tendency to break clauses that could be easily linked with commas into separate sentences, and it drove me mad trying to read it.
