then even he should know that this is bullcrap writing. "they were required to check in with" "new security regulations forced them check in with" etc. jeez there's a whole way to write around this and get more words out of this without even having to ride around on that turian who has no meaning to the story and isn't interesting at all.

Absolutely. There's many ways he could have written it to have the paragraph appear more interesting and relevant. I suspect the time constraints he was under was the reason for things like this though. Or am I giving him too much credit? >.>

I had no idea so many people enjoyed Karpshyns writing. His grammar, pacing and characterization are hardlly leaps and bounds above Dietz.

They may not have been the best books every, but they were enjoyable atleast. The things people have posted here as being from the book read like bad fanfiction.

O____O

By all means, Drew isn't one of the world's best writers, but lets be honest.

Dietz is miiiiiles below him. Ignoring the inconsistencies and lore, just referring to sentence structure, pacing, etc etc.

Mr. Karpyshyn suffers from his own problems and mistakes, but they are much easier to accept than Dietz's, at least for me.

What the hell is up with that Amazon review that is completely negative and yet gives the book 4 stars?

That was so it could be featured, that way people could see it sucked and a positive 4 star review wouldn't take its place.

To replace the 5-star review as most helpful favourable review with one that was provided by someone who had actually read the book.

Amazon has a section devoted to positive reviews on the book page, therefore a 4 star review can show up there and warn people of it's qualities when scrolling down to read the review.

Drew K. didn't an amazing job of show, don't tell. Reading the book was very engaging because of how well it conveyed setting (whether or not you liked the plot, characters, etc., you have to give him that).

Drew's novels are among the most boring things I have ever read.

You have no idea how much I've read that in the last 48 hours. hah

I'm glad I can help as many of y'all as I can. Or could, as far as spoilers went prior to midnight almost 11 hours ago.

Just wanted to thank *all of you* who have done this work. You saved me from purchasing the note and suffering the same profound anger and disappointment that you have. I mean - I still feel that disappointment, but it warms my heart seeing the powers that be called into account. Bravo.

I won't be surprised if it gets taken down at some point by the hack reviewer herself.

I remember in the first book there is that part where a krogan biotically lifts a fuel tanker (or something) and hurls it at his enemies.
I always found that to be pretty absurd. I don't remember the krogan even using biotics after that so what was even the point in establishing his strength? Karpshyns has many absurd scenarios in his books in addition to spotty grammar.
I think deception is pretty bad, but it is not Dietz took over the final book in LOTR and killed off samwise.
All these mass effect novels have been pretty average so I am suprised you all care this much.

I just hope someone updates the plot summary on the wiki soon, curious to see who all he murdered off, but having read the section everybody's posted, I can't bring myself to actually read the book.

The wikia boys have something special planned, actually. They're surprisingly tight lipped though.

Guess they want to surprise everyone. I support it. For the lulz.

Whoa, don't mean to over sell it. The 'secrecy' is simply because not all the admins are active at the same time and I don't want to promise anything specific in case we collectively decide against it. I did post a hint when I got the consent of the head admin, when I was reasonably confident we'd have something. We're at 3/4 admins right now. The 4th is yet to wake.

What we're doing is probably quite tame compared to what you're expecting, but we are sending a message. Don't want to get your hopes up. We're doing something cool to help out, but don't expect anything too drastic or original.

I think you'll appreciate it though.

Not stopping till this entire debacle is settled or everyone gives up.

And we're not giving up any time soon.

I'm naturally charismatic, I oversell things when even I know it won't be something crazy.

You'll get used to it if you see me post. Heh.

To each their own but in comparison to Deception they're a godsend.
