I wonder if they are going to announce Kai Leng's VA, or if it's a secret till release.

We all know it's going to be Tommy Wiseau.

That would be awesome, haaa

"Let's eat HAW cereal?!"

"How much for the vases?"

"18 dollars"

Kotaku took notice that we hate the book, and Amazon is giving it a thrashing, if a modest one at this point

PSA: if you've read the book, head over to amazon and review it!

@JoePilot

With all due respect, this isn't a thread about the pros & cons of pre-ordering.

To be honest, I'd say it has more to do with the lore mistakes than the quality of the writing.
The latter happens to be the icing on the cake of this....book.

Read the books.  She was raised by her mother in the megatropolis of Texas, one of the poorer regions on earth.  Her parents divorced when she was young-ish, and she grew up basically by herself.

Oh, the poor thing!  It's like The Catcher in the Rye.  A bit.  Hopefully she will get to meet Jack in ME3 and they can compare tragic childhoods.

That certainly is an inspiring story.  Personally when I think of characters working hard to overcome their humble origins I think of people like Vito Corleone or Spartacus, but this works just as well.

LP I see you changed your pic. haha this one amuses me.

on topic, I bet they go for the easy route and use Microsoft Sam (or his Apple alter-ego) to voice Leng.

I wonder if now that you've mentioned it someone will actually dub in his lines with MS Sam once the game comes out?

Your sarcasm is noted, however, like I said, we're talking about a peripheral character in game tie-in novel.  It's nice to see any attention payed to those sorts of details in such works, and I feel like it added to the novels.

classics they're not, but when the author cares enough to give them a background that is consistent with their personality, it is noticed and appreciated - otherwise all we'd have is Dietz style novels.

I did NOT buy Deception, I handled it with caution, looked at it in disgust, opened it, laughed, took a picture of the front cover, caught the eye of an employee (who knew what I was doing) and left it there.

I bought Asunder.

is that true? did he really say that? that s the most horrible thing one can say of something they work on. You just don't care? Then ahy will your fans?

No, no dev ever said that.

I'm pretty sure that was just the original poster's inference from the quality of ME2's lore not being to his or her exacting standards.

I think that while the devs might not be as obsessive as some of their fans about lore, they generally know their stuff and certainly have the resources (their own internal guides, the wiki) to turn to when they need it.

If something breaks lore, it's probably deliberate instead of out of ignorance.

But lore mistakes and poor writing are both the result of a lack of quality control that comes from not caring about the product.  That can only happen if the audience is assured, and the quickest way to set up that scenario is by pre-ordering.

What personality, though?  We can all describe Garrus's personality.  Or Wrex's.  Or Joker's.  Or Miranda's.  Even Jacob's!  But what's Kahlee's?  To me she's just this empty husk of a thing, walking through corridors shooting living creatures while everyone around her gazes on adoringly.  She's like Grayson post-surgery, except I find her actually more frightening.  What is it that you like about this horrifying creature?

That's just it - she didn't turn out to be some ****y damaged ho - she's just got some weak spots hidden under an otherwise normal exterior.  We call this characterisation, a desireable quality in good, well thought, beleivable characters.

it boils down to the fact I think thats shes too "Normal" ppl seem to hate "Normal" characters....everyone gotta be FUBAR or totaly bad ass beyond reason. Everyone's gotta have these massive personal problems they have to whin and complain about every 5 seconds...but thats my opinion.
