Dear Bioware,
Please reconsider your decision to release this novel at the very least you should declare it non-canon this mistreatment of IP will not be tolerated. You have killed a once-great series of books, and I'm sorry hear that, they were a good man.
Feelingly yours,
Joe

"A roly-poly volus was ensconced behind a messy desk."
This line gets me every time. Every. Time.
It's seriously like he was writing up the novel in Word and, for whatever reason, was like, "Quick, need to use another word for round!"
Then right-clicked the word and scrolled down to "roly-poly" without even realising it.
Something similar happens in The Flood a few times. It's just the author's unique way of describing aliens.
(I forgot the Halo reference, it might've been talking about Grunts)

so has anyone gotten a reply, all i got was from Stanley Woo saying that if he wanted to discuss Deception, then he would be in this thread, anyone get anything else?
Nothing, but as I said before, I was speaking with Karin Weekes about other things on my facebook page and this came up. She is aware of the issue, but can't comment yet.
Keyword is YET.
Just wait. Patience is what we need.

Just saw the kotaku article (No clue how late I am). Bioware is probably embarrassed right now.
Probably?
And only NOW!?

So Nick just murdered one of his teachers for no reason other than he was angry? And Kahlee just says "I'm sorry to hear that Nick he was a good man." WTH?
She'd only known Hendel for like... twenty years or so.
No big deal.

I better step out before they get here - If anyone in any official cappacity does show up, we're going to need to be on our best behavior, and I'm not sure I have it in me.

She only liked Hendel when he was gay.
Once his sexuality got retconned she didn't care anymore.

I think the fact that there is not an official launch announcement thread for the book is pretty telling.
Heh, agreed.
Then again, why make one, WE'VE GOT ONE RIGHT HERE.

I was wondering about that also - They probably just (rightly) assumed that we would all flock there, and any offical post would show up on the BW blog and first page of google, and only further undermine the book.
There would also be no way to enthusiastically announce the latest! Book! from Bioware!, Only to have it followed up by 300 pages of negativitiy.

And now Deception perfomed by elcor actors whose show us real emotions hidden in original text.
"Suprisingly - Mr. Mitra. What are you doing here. Unbeliavebly - you killed Marisa."
"Uncomprehendibly - Marisa. Was she your girlfriend."
"Sadly - yes, damn you... Even more sadly - we were going to get married."
"Feelingly - I'm sorry. Reproachfully - but you brought this on yourself. Remember what Kahlee and I taught you. Gravely serious - those who use their biotic powers to hurt people will pay. It's just a matter of time."
"Peed... oh, sorry, my mistake... pissed - you bastard. Really pissed - you rotten bastard. Really, really pissed -first you kill Marisa and then you have the balls to claim that it's my fault. Grimly - goodbye Mr. Mitra. You can preach to the people in hell."
Much better than that awful eight-hour long Hamlet adaptation. Kitt's version was ghastly.

I feel like this thread, along with the succesfully tanked amazon ranking, has probably already killed a serious number of purchases. There is nothing to be gained at this point by drawing attention to this. I geniunely think this book is going to be a total failure. Blew up on the launch pad days before it was supposed to take off.

'Can I help you, Earth person?' Asked Roly-Poly Ollie. Gillian grunted and threw a singularity at the volus' head. It was strong.
'I will get that Illusive Man if it's the last thing I do!' Gillian screamed and continued to walk along the Presidium."
RIP original thread.

"Gyrocycles.I saw them on the way in... A much younger version of Anderson appeared." Gyrocycles on Omega? Makes as much sense as astablishing dominance via cereal.

We need the novel redacted and disavowed from the lore.
THATS the goal.

Couldn't have happened to a more suitable book.
On an unrelated note, I may record an elcor review

Represents how the novel makes zero sense.
