That's what happens. The gaming media is pretty markedly on our side though, so... yeah.

Speaking of which, just added the one from Game Banshee. Anyone got a link to the News4Gamers article? I couldn't find it and I'm really hard-pressed for time.

Still confuses me how this novel was apparently reviewed "line by line" by Bioware.

That's what Dietz claims. I'm sure the claim is sincere, but I don't think the evidence is with him on this one.

New fun post from the Barnes & Noble page:

Extremely good! Don't believe the one star trolls.

An excellent addition to the Mass Effect universe. Ignore the one star trolls.

I guess we're a horde of trolls now.

Also, someone is selling a used copy for $26.50

Please note the several five star reviews with no text right after that post.

Yes, apparently that particular reviewer like thed book so much they are resorting to sock puppeting to boost the rating.

I could only manage 3 pages of the preview and that felt like 3 pages too many. The writing style is so clunky. I can't believe he actually got paid for this rubbish.

Please, there are not that many trolls. This is too much uproar over this for it to be just "trolls."

Besides the fact that we know the mistakes made in the book are patently absurd, so we're not trolling. We're telling you it's a failure of a book and that mister Dietz should spend a good portion of his pay for writing this on planting an entire forest.

Absolutely

That`s why I have no problem orchestrating an Amazon bomb. This is not some silly gripe about marketing or something. The product is in front of us, the product is bad. I have no problem with encouraging people to say so in a public forum.

Wow, haven't read the book but I read the doc with all the lore mistakes. The just one thing to do with that, ban it from canon. That is not the Mass Effect Universe described in that book.

Hey we should listen to that guy, you're all being really cynical. It doesn't matter if the book doesn't make sense, you can *imagine* it makes sense, and just correct all the errors in your head. It's what real fans do.

We have no need for finished and edited products here, no sir, its the customers job to finish the story.

Please purchase from our finely honed list of half finished novels with additional pages so you can finish. We expect these to fly off the shelves, on gyrocopters.

What really worries me is that the true probem might actually be that Dietz was forced to make changes to the book because of retcos made in ME3

Does anyone know how closely Diets has worked with the dev team?

And it`s still a question of what ``Bioware`` manes in that context. For all we know, the book was proofread by an editorial intern, or a PR rep.

Oh, I have no problem saying how I feel about this piece of trash - this is honestly one of the worse novels I've read in well over a decade (if not longer). <_<

Not enough gyrocopters or relay sex.

I have the sinking, horrible thought that Dietz submitted his first draft for editing to bioware. Then Casey Hudson's assistant quickly glanced through it, gave it a rubber stamp of approval, and sent it back to him with a little sticky note that said "awesome!".

Dietz raised his eyebrow at this. This is the first time in his life a book has come back to him with no changes needed. He then shrugs his shoulders and is happy he can work on something of his own creation. After all bioware just told him he earned his check.

That, at least, is what I imagine could have happened.

Done indeed. Buried that right quick.

Now, anyone who put up a review on Amazon.com, would you do your Canadian brothers and sisters a solid and pop over to Amazon.ca and duplicate it there? Just one or two would make me a happy Canuck.

Done.

I'm trying to spread the word on the facebook.com/masseffect page on the wall. Hitting them in the social media will likely quicken a response (or get us all banned).

I guess you could make a scene of Bailey humpin' Udina despite Bailey's failure of protecting Dietz.... on a gyrocopter.

Wait. Forget what I said.

Mentally disturbing images are mentally disturbing.

I won't sleep the next week thanks to this...

Its spreading even wider now, which is marvelous.

Still, we've all gotta wait for Bioware's response.
