I read that as Dietz saying "she's not in ME3...therefore I must KILL HER IN THE STUPIDIST WAY I CAN THINK OF!!!!"

At least, that's my best guess as to why Gillian, Hendel, and Nick are all dead.

Or they weren't in ME3 because of the novel's script.

That's even worse actually. It's letting Dietz decide the characters' fates. What if he killed Aria? or Anderson?

Don't talk like that! You're making me cry! :crying:

Its spreading even wider now, which is marvelous.

Still, we've all gotta wait for Bioware's response.

I agree. I'm actually sort of proud of this community at the moment, and happy to participate in this monumental BSN event.

This is spreading faster than the Origin debacle, Bioware's failed (US exclusive) community event a few years back, and I would go as far as to say it's gotten more popular than Talimancer threads.

You have no idea what sort of irony you just posted. You'll never see it, but wow. I just noticed.

Would you care to enlighten me?

The failed community event would've grown this fast if the Doctors didn't come to the forum and say they'd plan something for those they've left out, which they've never held their promise on. They left that thread open where everybody that was left out would say "ok! we trust you!!!1" and then locked it without warning and let it die, no other mention was ever done.

People eat from their hands when they offer something and then wonder why the food wasn't that great.

EDIT: I still hold on to my signature until they do what they promised.

I think Bioware cares what their fans think, but just not so much that they will openly take a pie-in-the face mea culpa about this book unless it starts affecting preorders of the game.

But I've beat that horse many pages ago............

agreed, however, a lot of people love trinkets. We're screwed.

Definitely hitting 300 pages today.

God, its like this thread has existed for months.

This seriously has to be the fastest growing thread in the history of the BSN, and probably the old BioBoards too.

It's beat by the original Origin thread.

also the original talimancer threads before bioware cracked down on them

those threads would get 1000+ pages in a month

I would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

Yes, some trolls feel the need to inject postitivity, just as some are negative. Most or negative. But, case in point.

Yeah, but they used those as a chat.  I know.  I was there.

It DOES make Dietz even more of a punching bag, because I personally would rather have seen the book characters' stories finished in ME3...

I still can't get over how Casey Hudson tweeted last August that this horrendous book is a "really fun lead in to ME3" and that "kai leng is a badass".

I cant get over how in this tweet Casey also said "Finished my final review of the #MassEffect Deception novel". In August which was 5 and a half months ago.   No one at Bioware even looked at it since then???

Wow. I remember that, but I left in disgust right after the announcement and didn't know they said that.  That's pretty pathetic.

(My disgust was the event itself - I'm in the U.S., so I was eligible, but the build-up for a competition to do free social marketing for Bioware in exchange for swag was the epitome of lame and condescending.)

I never understood the concept of pissing in the wind.

Surely - thinking the wind is strong enough here - you're in for some unpleasant "backlash"?

I'll say at least a couple of days, Whenever Bioware gets criticised harshly they always back away and remain silent at first.

And when Shepard says "I heard you all died?"
They say "Funny, we heard the same about you."

EDIT:  Even better:  "You must have been DECIEVED."

Shepard is told all three are dead in his first encounter with Kai Leng.

He then meets them:
"But...you were dead! That Cerberus toothbrush ninja said so!"

"He said WHAT?" *collective facepalm*

EDIT: I defer to the above.
