Wow. I remember that, but I left in disgust right after the announcement and didn't know they said that.  That's pretty pathetic.

(My disgust was the event itself - I'm in the U.S., so I was eligible, but the build-up for a competition to do free social marketing for Bioware in exchange for swag was the epitome of lame and condescending.)

We're getting off-topic but here it is.

Any bets on if and when BW will respond to this thread?

I'll say at least a couple of days, Whenever Bioware gets criticised harshly they always back away and remain silent at first.

In a few days we could be at 500 pages.

Hanlon's Razer, do not attribute BioWare of conspiracing against us if all you need is a non-conformist pissing against the wind.

I never understood the concept of pissing in the wind.

Surely - thinking the wind is strong enough here - you're in for some unpleasant "backlash"?

Ok just added a review on amazon uk.

We could probably do with a few more on there if anyone's willing to chip in.

HAHAHAH! Oh this - how I hope for this.

This is spreading faster than the Origin debacle, Bioware's failed (US exclusive) community event a few years back, and I would go as far as to say it's gotten more popular than Talimancer threads.

The failed community event would've grown this fast if the Doctors didn't come to the forum and say they'd plan something for those they've left out, which they've never held their promise on. They left that thread open where everybody that was left out would say "ok! we trust you!!!1" and then locked it without warning and let it die, no other mention was ever done.

People eat from their hands when they offer something and then wonder why the food wasn't that great.

EDIT: I still hold on to my signature until they do what they promised.

When I read Casey's Tweet today, where he was praising the Deception novel, it was sort of a wake up call for me. I decided that from now on I will take every future Bioware statement with huge pools of salt. They cannot be trusted anymore, just like EA cannot be trusted because of their attempt at people's privacy (Origin).

I think that the wiki letter should be posted as a different thread as the op. That way it will be easy to access.

I'll do it now if it has not been done already.

Maybe Deception was designed to bring everyone concerned about ME3 under one united banner in loathing Deception?

....hmmm.

I still can't get over how Casey Hudson tweeted last August that this horrendous book is a "really fun lead in to ME3" and that "kai leng is a badass".

It's the 140 character limit.  He had to leave out the "and by 'fun' I mean it's fun in the same way The Room and Birdemic are fun" and "But not in this novel.  He's a badass in Retribution and ME3" parts.

Dunno, I've seen a lot of people who absolutely no concerns for ME3 and love everything about it have their fair share of hating Deception.

Been reading through this pile of nonsense and so far it just strikes me as if Dietz quickly skimmed through the wiki page and made a loose concept based on that with way too many factual errors.

At least make sure you remember everything on the wiki when you do that.
Heck, a lot of the pages so far feel like he just copy pasted it.

It's funny to read some of these pages and then realize I read almost the exact same thing a few days ago when I was looking into a few lore items.

And then you run into such a grave lore error you want to cry a little bit.
