Agreed. I kind of want to enjoy a pristine, unspoiled ME3.

Heyyy I never intented to spoil anything for anyone. I just made assumptions...

Save for the fact that I now know the books have zero impact on it.

Not that they were ever going to have any impact on the story anyway. Would probably be too confusing otherwise.

I guess...It would have been cool to see the characters in game imo but I can see how alot of people wouldn't know who they are.

For what its worth I'm a big lover of game tie-in novels and how they expand and compliment the universes depicted on screen. Found the first three books to be perfect fits in the me universe but after reading the multitude of failures presented in Deception I can assure you I will no longer be purchasing a copy. Mass Effect should've stayed with Microsoft, the halo books are testament to good author/editor relations.

It's funny that you mention Halo novels in this thread.
Apparently, the Halo book that our friend Dietz wrote was a catastrophy. Not as big as this one, but still.

I put that Eden Prime thing into the Oddities section - not quite an error, but still odd.

Controversial yes, but it didn't violate the most basic, easily-knowable laws of the lore

Oh, dear GOD.  Do you realize what you just did?

You just solved what Sylvester Stallone was trying to say in Judge Dredd!

People in this thread mentioned the Halo: Flood book that in comparison to ME: Deception, it is a "divine work of art".

Microsoft had nothing to do with any of the books, though.

Exactly. Maybe if they'd stayed on as publisher this would never have happened.

I don´t know if this has been asked before, but was there any particular reason TIM wanted Gillian dead? Just that she wants him dead should put her in a very long list.

Exactly. Leng told him she wants to kill him and Dietz's version of TIM said, she should be dangerous so better kill her first.

Really.

So... after being told by the executive assistant to the salarian Council member that the apartment that she and Anderson share in Deception was bugged and that C-Sec found 12 surveillance devices monitoring over the apartment, Kahlee Sander's first response to this unexpected news.... is to blush???

What, is she now embarrassed that Cerberus now knows that she and Anderson like to MAKE WHOOPIE  EVERY FIVE DAMN MINUTES?!?

Not Deception. The other three are fun, but by no means required reading for ME3.

I've read the entire book, it was horrible.

How in the name of all it's saint BioWare let this **** hit the bookstores?

Mac Walter didn't read the book before it was sent to the press? Drew Karphyshyn? Casey Hudson?

Found another one:

Having been returned to Omega’s surface Leng had elected to visit one of his favorite restaurants rather than return to the safe house.

There might be oddity in how Dietz describes mass relays. According to Deception inner rings start spinning faster when relay is used. Never seen that in my games. Does it appear in other tie-in material?

Well this answers the question conclusively.

This book's alpha plot was the Anderson/Kahlee romance.
