Nobody cancelled their ME3 pre-order after this novel fiasco?

BSN has seen better days.

That's it!  I *WAS* going to cancell my pre-order over the book, but now I will cancell my pre-order over the fact that nobody is cancelling their pre-order over the book!

Thought so, the paragraph read like it came from an actual novel with proper prose in it... unlike Deception...  <_<

It's a bad sign when the preview of a book, which is supposed to entice you to buy the product, is not only terribly written, but contains a third to about half of the 90 noted errors in the full product.

I think it would be neat if as a form of apology, Hudson and Walters read the entirety of the book. Would be interesting to see their reactions to a thing they endorsed as good.

Wrapping things up, I hope to see the Hitler's Downfall (that's where the meme comes from, right?) reaction to this done (the bit typed up before was most excellent) and that I'm glad that when I went to pick up a copy earlier, the store didn't have any.

The reverse psychology! It's trowing me off in so many ways! :o

But in all seriousness, I think it's safe to assume that the book isn't an indicator of Mass Effect 3's quality. Like, at all. I plan to play Mass Effect 3 and damn well like it. But I don't think anyone sane and respecting of this franchise can even remotely accept this as something that actually adds to it (because it really doesn't).

Bioware, please put more effort into your tie-ins. I want to be proud of them, not shaking my head at blatant cash grabs.

I'm going to charitably assume that Dietz was contracted to do the book, put off sending in review copies of his manuscript. On the last day of his deadline shoved the manuscript at the publisher, who asked a staff deep in the midst of polishing ME3 to look at it, they gave it to an intern for the weekend and he gave it a thumbs up so no one thought it would need more help.

That's my charitable assumption.

Is it perhaps telling that Bioware haven't trumpeted the release of Deception on the main page yet?

And then they delayed the game, and pushed the book back to line up with it. And then no one ever went back to see if they could used soem of that extra time to so another edit.

It is also quite telling that this is the only ME novel that didn't get an audiobook version. Either they knew it was going to suck, or the narrator refused to read it aloud, lol.

Also, the silence from Bioware is deafening. They are really just waiting for this whole thing to blow over.  Nice to know how they deal with problems when they let crap onto the market.  Just keep quiet and hope no one (else) notices.  Cowards.

Indeed. I get the feeling Bioware is hoping this will all blow over.

Personally I'm beginning to think Bioware is just really terrible at getting non-bioware people to do tie in stuff for them, Like Mass Effect galaxy.

Anyone care to tell me what the official error count is up to? Or have we stopped counting now that the wiki has basically thrown up their hands and said **** this ****?

Indeed.  Zero quality control.  I refuse to beleive Mac Walters reviewed that.
