This is just getting silly - we're nearing the 100 mark.

As well as a note like: To all media entities, the following are a few of the more overt discrepancies. Also, all Mass Effect novels ARE canon and are frequently alluded to in game.
Something along those lines.

There was just a few bullet wounds really.
I think he's referring to Saren's interrogation methods in Revelation, which were really pretty brutal. I had no particular problem with it, because it shows you just what sort of person Saren is, but I can see how someone would rather do without.

Boy, Dietz sure does love those Beryllium slugs as currency, doesn't he?
I think he has the characters use those more often to pay for things than actual universal credits.
Credits are so 2186... I mean... 2185... I mean...
Whenever the past is in relation to this book's screwy time scale.

Really sorry I'm not helping much with editing. Monday through Wednesday I'm seldom near any internet-capable device save for this relatively useless phone.
How goes?
The Error List is slowly creeping towards 100, and we've been mentioned in the media a couple more times.

A few more media outlets, but they're still citing "nitpicky" errors.

I'm gonna call it a night, gotta get away from this novel and focus on something actually fun to do.

I get the impression this resulted from some misguided attempt at bringing in the whole mineral surveying/mining stuff from the games.

But... he used the wrong mineral...

Well, what else would you expect?
ETA: Just remembered that you can survey beryllium in the first game.

Yet more proof that Dietz likely didn't know that Mass Effect 2 was even a thing.

Or an asari stir-fry. This dish is no cold happy bowl of cereal...

Hey all I started a draft for a note to the media near the bottom off all the pages, maybe something else we can all work on and get into a good form or decide not to follow up, whichever.
I would actually move it to the top, just to make sure they see it, supposing they just skim the list.

It would help if the document listed the more nasty errors first, instead of putting them in categories that few people care about.MJvasNormandy wrote...

So, you want to put a note in the Google doc itself, like a "Note to Media Outlets" section? With you guys' help, I can put together a list of the five or so biggest pieces that we want to highlight and bring to the media's attention. You just gotta help me with which ones. Then, I can put it into a cute little package and ship it off to whoever wants to edit it in.
@ Jeff - Stop apologizing man, you're the OP of this thread. Lol.

Yeah that's the idea, once it's more cleaned up. Just a rough draft for now.

Awesome! Thanks for taking up my idea guys. I think it's important to list by number which errors are the worst and would be easily identified by even those unfamiliar with lore. Especially the timeline/character ones.

There is an error I'd like to add to the list, if someone could send this to those who are working on it. It's implied many times in the first four chapters or so that it becomes night time or "fake" night time on the wards. I seem to remember that only the presidium simulates day night cycles based on and average of the council races home worlds. The wards have no such day night cycle.
I could be wrong....but I don't think so.
Nick-picky, but I believe that is correct also. I think this is mentioned in the Codex in ME1.

And, maybe we could change the text color of the titles of really egregious errors to make them stand out more? Like bright red or some ****.

Wouldn't surprise me.... Dietz wrote that Omega has "artificial daylight" cycles, so I wouldn't doubt he did the same in the Citadel Wards and gave them "night cycles".macdadams2 wrote...
