I like Jeff's theory. We'll go with that.
Or just assume Anderson was getting right into the Red Sand prior to Shep's trial and had one hell of a hallucination.

Nah, I prefer the Prothean theory.

It's shocking to realize that it makes even less sense then I thought it did.

So successfull that now, two years later, some of the damage the sentient machines had caused is still being repaired.

Holy crap That's a reference to the timeline. This takes place two years after the battle of the Citadel? Did we all miss that? So this book takes place BEFORE Mass Effect 2 somehow?

You've got to be ****ting me.   Thats just inexcusable.

I read that first part multiple times but that line never sunk in with me.

According to the official Dietz timeline. this book takes place before Retribution. Why is Gillian so upset if her father hasn't

She can see the future. It manifests itself in her mind in the form of Cerberus scientists. Not surprising given her father and all.

Ever since Gillian grew out of her autism, yep, it's been a mostly upward trend. She sees the future, she air-kisses asari. She doesn't even afraid of anything these days.

I would be too if I was time travelling like she was.

I gotta wonder who at Bioware was supervising this?

If I was Drew Karpashyn, I would be seriously pissed to see someone butchering my characters like this.

I mean Dietz claims that Bioware was giving him feedback; but I can't imagine this abomination passing through the hands of the man who wrote the last three books.

I would be really curious to see Drew's honest reaction; but I'm guessing he's contractually obligated not to voice an honest opinion on this travesty.

I mean, is the power name "charge" not just a gameplay mechanic? I was under the impression from the previous books that in universe they don't really have these distinct names and classifications.

It's happened before, but nowhere near so clumsily.  Even Gillian's singularity in Ascension, which was a pretty big deal, isn't treated like a proper name, but just a simple description of what the thing is.

And have the time the power is in quotes, but then suddenly it's not. Even his nonsense isn't consistent.

Yeah, it also makes it sound they actually had a relationship back then, but they never did.  That was one of the better things about Revelation too: the expected romance never materializes.

It's not so bad, he just missed one word there: they met while battling WITH Saren (against Skarr).

(oh and I absolutely agree on the non-romance sentiment)

He's right 50% is him and 50% is bioware not checking his work as much as they should have.

I agree, and I am so disappointed in this.

Karpyshyn's story got destroyed by both parties.
