This will eventually blow over. I hope Bioware isn't wasting time focusing on this issue which really means nothing to most people who don't even read crappy game books. I just hope they're putting all time and effort into the polishing of Mass Effect 3.
Their focus on ME3 is likely what caused this novel to be released in such a state.
You should have nothing to fear.

I'm not worried about ME3, but I hope Bioware don't forget this.
Treating autism so carelessly is beyond distasteful, it's abhorrent.

right because to address this issue we need programmers, coders, testers and what not.....all people vital to the final polishing stages (which at one month from release and days from a gold announcement should be DONE) as opposed to the creative leads (handful of people).
right...totally

Its up to a lot.
A lot of them aren't actually errors, though. I think the actual problems (like characters returning from the dead and recovering from autism) have been lost in a sea of minor nitpicks (like arguments over metaphors such as "luminous eyes" or describing the Citadel as "star shaped").

Since most of them stopped working a few days before Deception was even released, I daresay they've finished polishing.
The game is about to go gold. For all intents and purposes, it's done.
Besides, this is a Community issue *at best*. It's not like Casey Hudson and a coterie of senior Bioware devs are holed up in a bunker under Edmonton with a map, a copy of Deception and a red pen, frantically fixing errors and yelling into telephones.
... although that is a pretty awesome mental image.

What a disappointment. I grow more and more worried for Mass Effect 3. But I'll continue to be excited until I actually get my hands on the game.
Hang in there. The game looks stunning.

I suggest a re-order.
Major errors first, nitpciks last.
So that, you know, the THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE flashes in your face first.

Most of us just want it to be disregarded as canon. I think it's easy for them to do if they want it. Btw. Is it possible that Dietz wrote this book like that to troll ME series?

Has someone managed to compile a list of the things Deception does to contradict cannon.
Check the OP.
And I agree that major, massive errors (autism, homosexuality, zombies) need to be placed at the top

Do this. 1, 3 , and 4 were so eye roll worthy, I almost closed the page before I read the true lore killers.
I will say that 8 is a true sign that he never played either Mass Effect.

Indeed, other sites don't seem to be catching on to the more bigger errors when articles are made.

The nitpicks should just come out. Dietz is perfectly within his rights to describe the Citadel as star shaped - it's not an error at all. The asari "air kiss" thing is actually quite creative, and given all the ways humans of differing groups use touching rituals (handshakes, secret handshakes, fist bumps, chest bumps, head bumps, high fives, air kisses (of differing numbers by region), hugs, bro hugs...) it makes perfect sense as something that the biotic subculture might develop.
And there it is, error number 10. Take that, dastardly Dietz. How dare you invent some fluff.

Yeah, the autism, homosexuality, and timeline things need to be right at the top.
Small inconsistencies and nitpicks need to sink.

Given that there is a limited time to make final changes to the game itself, I see that as more important, especially since the sh*t book has already been released.crimzontearz wrote...
