Given that there is a limited time to make final changes to the game itself, I see that as more important, especially since the sh*t book has already been released.crimzontearz wrote...
they have their job to do....and guess what, proofreading and ok-ing this abomination WAS THEIR JOB which according to twitter they did but given the result......ODST 3 wrote...

right because to address this issue we need programmers, coders, testers and what not.....all people vital to the final polishing stages (which at one month from release and days from a gold announcement should be DONE) as opposed to the creative leads (handful of people).ODST 3 wrote...
This will eventually blow over. I hope Bioware isn't wasting time focusing on this issue which really means nothing to most people who don't even read crappy game books. I just hope they're putting all time and effort into the polishing of Mass Effect 3.
right...totally
So you think the creative leads have nothing better to do?

They may have references to Deception in ME3. we may have to find a way to make some of it work.

I suggest a re-order.
Major errors first, nitpciks last.
So that, you know, the THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE flashes in your face.
The nitpicks should just come out. Dietz is perfectly within his rights to describe the Citadel as star shaped - it's not an error at all. The asari "air kiss" thing is actually quite creative, and given all the ways humans of differing groups use touching rituals (handshakes, secret handshakes, fist bumps, chest bumps, head bumps, high fives, air kisses (of differing numbers by region), hugs, bro hugs...) it makes perfect sense as something that the biotic subculture might develop.
And there it is, error number 10. Take that, dastardly Dietz. How dare you invent some fluff.

Do you seriously think "Disavowing" a recently published book is as easy as that? This represents a significant investment in addition to admitting they're wrong. Meetings must be had, numbers calculated, detailed decisions made... these things take time. Casey Hudson can't just say, "Yeah I didn't really read it before but now that these things are coming to light and a comparitively small percentage of our custumors are furious, I declare it non-canon." It would just be bad business to declare the thing a bust when it hasn't even been out a week. Now who's being unrealistic?crimzontearz wrote...
do you even know how developing works? the "no new features" barrier was reached months ago. Bug removal and polishing do not require a creative lead's full attention. What people want is nothing more than a few official words disavowing this crap so it does not influence canon

no one wants it now (next few hours or days) the noise is to attract attention and now the specialized press is involved too which means more noise.....more attentionODST 3 wrote...

And for the record, I would apologize if I pissed off a group of people with something I wrote. At least.

Where was it established that the creative leads are no longer needed in the final stages of game development? When are the staff NOT tight-lipped? What would be your detailed plan for rectifying the situation, knowing what little you know about the situation? Do you pull the book from stores? Do you have to make changes to the game if it references the book? Do you just wait a week and let it be once the fury has died down?crimzontearz wrote...

but now that we have established that the creative leads' attention is not held by the game itself at the moment and factoring in the staff is ultra tight lipped it's a safe bet that they are trying to figure out how to deal with this because it IS their job

I really hope this novel does not affect ME3 at all. I would also like to repeat my call that Deception be struck from canon.

Hah. Little detail.
Saw the post about someone's sister with autism that got bumped while I was sleeping. I'd like to point out that I also have a sister with autism, but I was way more lucky than they were. My sister was more like Gillian in Ascension: in fact, the scene in the lunchroom was spot-friggin'-on. I'd imagine if Erin had biotics, we would've had a singularity in our elementary school cafeteria, too... It was a major part of Gillian's character that I identified with, and now it's been almost completely forgotten. I mean, does the word "autism" actually show up in the book anywhere?
Oh, in other news, I "Kai Leng'd" my roommate's cereal a few minutes ago. It's delicious.
