Maybe we should try to increase the time between posts somewhat to allow this thread to migrate lower on the page and catch more people's attention?
Just a thought. 5-6 minutes between posts would be more than sufficient.

Maybe I'll buy it, to recycle it......
You know, because I'm concerned about the environment.
If you don't burn it, recycle it. That would work.

The deaths were the worst, for me. So wooden, so stilted and so pointless. None of them were necessary and all of them came about because the characters were behaving in completely stupid ways that didn't fit with the personalities we know.
That's what got me the most fueled up over this. The deaths are totally meaningless and have little weight to them. Like they're just trowing a scrapped piece of paper on a basket. And then, not a page later, they're all fine and dandy and going about like nothing even happened.
Anderson's quip immediately following Nick's demise reads like Nick wasn't even a 'red shirt', he was so irrelevant.

So it occurs to me that the reason we're not getting more thread "views" is because the constant posting is keeping this thread near the top of the page, where 'stickied' threads reside, and are often ignored. I know that I hardly ever look at the stickies anymore.

No. That wouldn't help our cause.
The amount of total views is not important anyway.
What they look for is amount of pages and number of posts, which we are HIGHLY succeeding at.
We need the speed.

We should not allow the thread to cede into the primordial muck....

Kahlee: "Two of my former students, both of whom I regarded as almost children, were just brutally murdered, one by a toothbrush. My former colleague and close friend was just killed. I'll say some meaningless random words about how they were all troubled people, plant a tree and then-"
Anderson: "Hey, stop talking, it's a two mile walk back to the hotel. We'd better go!"
Kahlee: "This rainforest is amazing."

Nick was a pink shirt(Lightish Red).
Even more insignificant than Jenkins(I miss Jenkins, oh Richard Leeroy Jenkins, with his charging into death)

Didn't fit the tone of the previous three novels at all.

I think part of the problem is also the examples Joystiq used. When I read the article I brushed it off too. For example:
"Anderson thinking that the Citadel trap had been sprung 'so successfully' they were still reparing damage -- The entire point of the first game was that you prevented that particular Reaper plan from succeeding."
That is so insignificant and up for interpretation, that I initially laughed at the efforts against this book.
No, it's not up for interpretation. The trap failed. That is an incontrovertible fact. It was the entire point of ME1. The reason for bringing it up is that Dietz can't even get the ending of the first game right. Seriously, it's one of the worst errors in the entire novel.

Glad we're all still together under the same banner.
Deception needs to be renamed, "Mass Effect: Disavowed"
Or Mass Effect:United in Hate or simply Mass Effect:Unity.
Or rather Mass Effect: Dismissed.

Death from toothbrush kinda reminds that "kinetic / biotic barriers alone won't protect you", but even this doesn't justify completely anticlimatic death scene of main character.
Leng is the main character, trying to look at it from a different perspective just won't work. The facts are that he can't die in the book, nor can TIM.

If anyone should be killed with a toothbrush it should be Donnel Udina.

You all know Kahlee sucks and it has nothing to do with her being a chick, but nice deflection attempt.
Then why use gendered insults to speak your mind?
I mean, "****-tease", really. And "****" - do I want to even guess that one?

It would have helped to figure that out if Leng was in the cover.Costin_Razvan wrote...

Thing is that Sanders is just a Mary Sue.
It would have helped to figure that out if Leng was in the cover.
Which brings me back to the point of why this book even exists. Gillian won't suceed, and I don't really give a **** about her.
Let's face it, the only person who can and possibly will kill Leng and TIM is Shepard.

Wow look at the can of worms this has opened. When I read the IGN article, where I first heard about this, I was in shock that Bioware would have let this be released. I second the need for it to be labeled as non cannon, it it isn't then it is a disaster awaiting a massive backlash from the fans who feel violated that something could defile something that all fans of the Mass Effect series stand for.
Oh hell yes. Join the club. Or the operation, really.

Not to nitpick, or cause any ill-will, but I wonder if it has to do with the *Inspired by a true story edition* part in the title. Unless I'm missing something, it just sounds like the thread is about a real life experience, rather than the exuberant amount of errors & poor writing in the....book.
If I am missing the meaning, can someone kindly explain it to me please.
