So again, just skimming through - still no word?

I like the red and blue for the error list, good way to separate things.

Wait, what happened exactly? Destructoid's twitter is also discussing it?

So glad we could save you money. In the future, look for reactions before purchasing, and maybe you'll be saved AGAIN. Hah.

Noted. ;)

Anyways...Kai Leng REALLY stole Anderson's cereal and pissed in his vase? Was this a joke or was it serious? I've also heard something about "Happy Bowls"...wtf.

He stole Anderson's cereal, was GOING to ****** in a vase, and killed Gillian with a sharpened toothbrush.

Please tell me you're being sarcastic...LOL. I'v only heard about Gillian, she's the autistic biotic, correct? And she was killed with a sharpened toothbrush!?

What happened to my Mass Effect!? D:

Still can't believe that she just "grew out of it", seriously...

Still no word from Bioware I see

IGN did an article on the issues about this book. Which to me sounds like a sad tie-in.

Loool. I would rather have the gyrocycle than the Hammerhead.

Hey, flame baits, keep this on topic.

Deception is a prime example of what happens when you hand a solid, burgeoning series (with admitted flaws) to an outsider. BioWare needs to respond to this soon. At least before the ME3 demo arrives. Unfortunately, I'm betting that they're just going to wait for the massive praise all the gaming websites will throw at the demo to overwhelm the negative response to Deception.

...maybe this was why they pushed back the demo so far? XD
/obviouslynot.

It's not even handing it to an outsider that's the problem though.  Had there been plenty of research done, I feel like there could have been a decent book.  The examples given where the book, games, and lore don't come together is the most jarring fact.

True. I should've specified that Dietz was an incompetent, uncaring outsider. :/
I honestly feel for those at the wiki and at BioWare who really have to deal with this mess and how to clean it up.

If you want to discuss these matters then make your own thread, this one already has its own topic, as you can plainly see.

Yes, yes. If we have anything more to say to each other we'll take it to PMs, however even the on-topic material of this thread warrants it being locked. What did this page consist of other than various people saying:

"-Deception sucks.
-Yes, yes it does.
-I hate Deception in addition.
-Me too."

Gotta come up with some new material, guys.

Nice to see people that actually read the thread.

Wait.

Actually, I think it's appropriate to think back and retroactively place a gyrocycle when necessary.
Shep becomes a Spectre? Immediately begins riding around the Council Tower whooping his victory.
It works! I actually wouldn't mind being able to ride a bike of some sort in ME3. So, I guess that makes Deception successful in some regard? It makes it less bitter to take in, that's for sure.

Reason being that the dead character was brought back to life in the same story and not another installment. So for example, to me, this is the level of WHAT THE HELL between four instances of plot switches-

1. Autistic Gillian not being Autistic(Ascension to Deception)
2. Homosexual Hendel not being homosexual(Ascension to Deception)
3. Ugho being dead and then mysteriously alive(Ascension to Deception)
4. Shepard being dead and then revived(Mass Effect 2)

One of these things is not like the others, since we see the mechanism by which it is achieved.

Jim Sterling is hilarious and infuriating in equal doses. His articles about EA never fail to entertain though. Not surprised that he picked up on this. Glad to see this getting more coverage. That's definitely a good thing.

Why did they drop the other guy for Dietz anyways?

The other guy, Drew Karpyshyn, left the Mass Effect writing team to work on the writing team of BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic, and while he was at it, wrote tie-in novels for that game.

Still, that is just outrageous. "Growing out of" autism. Wow.

Gillian goes to a noodle shop on Omega and buys and eats... and I swear to god I'm not making this up.... a meal called a "happy bowl".

Maybe the sandman put his "REAL red" stuff in it, maybe that's what makes it "happy".

Gillian is now formerly autistic.

Oh, and instead of being 15 in Deception like she should've been, she was 18.

She also takes part in asari-style "air kisses".

Oh, and she's a Level 3 biotic. Super Saiyan style. Electricity and everything.
