Reason being that the dead character was brought back to life in the same story and not another installment. So for example, to me, this is the level of WHAT THE HELL between four instances of plot switches-

1. Autistic Gillian not being Autistic(Ascension to Deception)
2. Homosexual Hendel not being homosexual(Ascension to Deception)
3. Ugho being dead and then mysteriously alive(Ascension to Deception)
4. Shepard being dead and then revived(Mass Effect 2)

One of these things is not like the others, since we see the mechanism by which it is achieved.

No, you don't.

IGN did an article on the issues about this book. Which to me sounds like a sad tie-in.

It is, and more: it is insulting in all its lore-breaking, horrible glory.

I am actually positively surprised by the IGN article and how they picked on the more major issus we have with the book.

But the comments... Ohh, the comments! Sideeyeing them so hard, particularly the ones about Hendel

#4, the Lazarus Project rev'd Shepard.

Hence it being the least ridiculous and why it shouldn't even be brought up against Deception's transgressions.

You shouldn't even focus on that. Focus HERE. Let the comments be posted, they are irrelevent in the grand scheme of our operation.

Oh no, it'll be all the more hilarious if it's done seriously. :D

Yes. Deadly serious... but with a straight-faced Brian Blessed imitation.

I'd marry it.

Gillian goes to a noodle shop on Omega and buys
and eats... and I swear to god I'm not making this up.... a meal called
a "happy bowl". [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/pouty.png[/smilie]

Maybe the sandman put his "REAL red" stuff in it, maybe that's what makes it "happy". [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/whistling.png[/smilie]

That is the only reason I could see it being named a "Happy Bowl". LOL

Gillian is now formerly autistic.

Oh, and instead of being 15 in Deception like she should've been, she was 18.

She also takes part in asari-style "air kisses".

Oh, and she's a Level 3 biotic. Super Saiyan style. Electricity and everything.

Oh, Dietz...

There's nothing wrong with biotic "air kisses". Societies and subcultures have all kinds of touching rituals and there's no reason to criticise Dietz for inventing one for biotics. If anything the books (all of them) should have had more stuff like this, should have explored the universe in ways that didn't involve running through corridors and shooting people.

I'm thinking this is all part of the plan. That the book was meant to be so bad that people will talk about it to get more publicity...... It's a conspiracy man!

Now that I think of it the sole purpose of the book was for TIM to get Grayson's body so he could make more Adjutants.

That's it. Everything else is just there for no real reason.

The book was a waste. We established that. It sucks how literally nothing happened.

Pretty much.

And to be fair, the whole body-stealing scene was pretty much the best and the coolest part of the whole book. I just wish the rest would have been half as good.

Whoever had the 4-star review that was actually negative pulled it to let the rating drop. Makes in funny, because now the most helpful favourable review that gets displayed beside mine says 2 of 55 people found this helpful.

Yup, i think Bioware had alot of control over what they wanted to include in the story.

I can guess they wanted Kai Leng to kill Gillian, to make him more of an antagonist in ME3
And they wanted a tie in to Cerberus's adjutant army.

The problem is that all of this is horribly written into the story. Cerberus taking Grayson's body for PR reasons, Gillian dying in a completely anticlimactic way and The information about Cerberus's army coming from a source that couldn't possibly have known about it, or sent the information for that matter.

Wait, there's parts that are worth reading? :o

I wonder if it goes on sale for less than a pound whether it's worth picking up for the few decent bits?
