Grim Skulls and Biotic Underground in Deception were such jokes it was nuts.

Biotic Pride Parade? REALLY?

*shakes head*

I'm all for pride.  PRIDE IN THIS THREAD!
----
And why do biotics need to go underground?  If anything they could just band together and rock anybody who tried to mess with them.  As far as I know, there isn't an anti-biotic compund is there?

Dietz was trying to create the ME version of the Weather Underground.

She should've been 15, not 18. But of course, errors are EVERYWHERE.

I just completely revamped the OP. It looks nice except for the credits list at the end; didn't translate well from the notepad I'd crafted for that section. I'm fixing it now.

Looks more organized. Well done, Jeff!

Yeah, I think previously I've just had entirely too much fun using hyperlink text since I'd only just recently learned how to do that. Got carried away; it read like a passage and not a fan collaboration except for the credits at the end. I'm much happier with the current design. Thanks!

Istanbul's a city, dude.

We talking about Byzantium?

Or Constantinople?

I was refering to the city, not the nation. :pinched:

Great. Now that song is stuck in my head and I kind of am picturing a montage of bad scenes from Deception to the song now...Image IPB facepalms hard

I'm sorry. I was just trying to be funny to off set the rage I feel at deception :crying:

actually it made it kind of funny lol. No harm done. Man I just can't believe the audacity of someone to say that someone more or less snaps out of autism. I woul think that this would offend and appaul more than just anger. It is just plain horrible!

Biotic Pride Parade? Ooooh, that's low, even by Dietz standards.

A Biotic Pride Parade is almost as bad as this...

I never thought about reading the novel before, and this certainly tells me that I shouldn't. Also, the author wrote an idiotic interpretation of the first Halo game. Spare yourself the pain.

Yeah, we're aware of Halo: The Flood. I had bad feelings nearly a year ago when I heard he was writing this, and look what happened.

Oh, for f***s sake....

“And they led me to what could be the Biotic Underground’s headquarters.”
“That’s huge,” Kahlee said. “What are we waiting for? Let’s go there.”
“Not
so fast,” Hendel said. “The place is bound to be full of Level Three
biotics all armed to the teeth. We wouldn’t stand a chance. Plus, if it’s there it’s behind a steel door inside a hill made out of solid rock.

So apparently Omega has f***ing hills all over the place.... how much you wanna bet that it's on Omega's "surface", to boot? [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/pinched.png[/smilie]

Omega's got nice hills.

Pride parade thing is actually problematic. Doesn't fit with my idea of copying plot from gangster book (well, could be mafia guys using people in Unions) maybe Dietz actually invented something himself.

I think he was just ripping off Gangs of New York:

Hence the thing with them having battle standards and outlandish clothing.

So actually read/skimmed the book, mostly read the end where she's killed with a toothbrush, and in what has to be the least emotional, passionless, badly written, badly edited conclusion ever, I'm sure you're supposed to feel sorry she died, but that was bad comedy. I'm not even going to read the rest of the book.

That was so bad. SO very bad and the people who approved it should feel bad.

I still trying to understand how the book got approved to even have a that  nonsensical conclusion.   If this guy can be author then anyone  FF.net has a great  chance and should never give up.

Mistakes were made

and I - along with a lot people want answers.

Hell  this author can't even get basic math right.. .one doesn't simple  go from 12 yrs old to 18 in 3 years.

I admit to reading bad fan fiction, hell I admit to having written bad fan fiction-that I was smart enough to never put on the internet btw- but this book is actually worse than bad fan fiction. I mean  my god.

I can live with writing a novel that has a boring story and dry characters, but this one looks like its a first draft transcript.

And...12 to 18? Seriously?

as a heart attack

And yes It worst than bad  fan ficiton or and I have read some BAD fan fiction... Logan/Gambit romance  I though that was the worst...

but Deception  proved to me

It can always get worst.

By the way, question to everyone-

Would you consider this a "Hate Thread"?

Just a personal question. Cause we ARE showing pretty much nothing but disapproval for Deception, regardless of our willingness to accept positive remarks for the novel.

Good news, everyone!  The folks at bioware are bending over backwards to fit Deception into the canon of Mass Effect!  In fact, the devs just released this exclusive in-game screenshot of the citadel showing their efforts!

NOpe. If it isn't stolen from Carpenter, it's stolen from westerns. Remember how badguys always slowly ride through town to show who si strongest?
