That's about as subtle as an assassin breaking into an admiral's home and eating his cere--oh...right.

He didn't seriously do that right? That's not why he has the cereal thief nickname right?

...right?

Hey guys, this whole Deception spectacle got me thinking.

What if this was done on purpose, just to get everyone's attention away from other things? You know, like the Origin uproar. The official Origin thread is nowhere to be seen right now. And in the grand scheme of things, Origin's implications were much more serious than a failed novel.
I mean, the team responsible for this mess would surely know that the fanbase would go berserk, if the novel was released in the form it was, when they reviewed it. It is so bad, that I refuse to believe that someone from Bioware (someone like Casey Hudson among others) would read through the novel and said it was great and gave it a green light.
Maybe I'm overthinking it, but still, it's something to think about.

Well the Origin thread was locked almost a week ago because of off-topic ****, so that's why we have to be careful of that.

Really? I wasn't aware of that. Still, I don't think the Origin debacle should be forgoten. There were some down right nasty implications with that client, and we should remember to never fully trust EA in the future.

Anyways, you are right about OT. Back to raging.

Yes, and he didn't suddenly get the urge to urinate in the middle of trying to snipe somebody....

That's parody, right? Right???

You should know better by now.

I meant “I’m sorry,” Kahlee replied, by which she meant she was sorry" part, not cereal. But I guess I definitely should've expected that by now.

Sigh. A bit more facepalms and my forelock will turn into Kaidan-style hair bump.

Wait a second, Kai Leng was captured? How? Lured into trap charged with cereal?

Well, guy somehow doesn't found anything suspicous when he just escapes assasination attempt and comes to Cerberus safe house gurded by Turian and Salarian. Then, later he escapes and manages to get captured again.

Seriously. I think Too Dumb To Live is a understatement here.

It's getting closer to my language!

(No need to add it, just pointing that out.)

People in twitter are tearing it a new one. My only sadness comes from people who can't see the difference between Dietz and the team behind Mass Effect 3, and try to extrapolate the quality of one from the other. :(

“I’m sorry,” Kahlee replied, by which she meant she was sorry about the choices Gillian had made, the people she had killed, and the fact that she was dying.

By the Goddess, this phrase hurts to read, let alone write!

You didn't know? While planting bugs in Anderson's apartment he hangs back to eat his cereal because it's his apartment now. He's an adrenaline junkie, y'know.

I was serious. I'm re-writing the book. Here is a re-write of the prologue. I'm hoping to try and get a chapter done a day. With today being just the prologue to gauge people's interest and support. This isn't being done as a back handed malicious slap to Dietz or BioWare. I'm doing this because I'm a fan.

Take the time to read if you can, I need to know if this is a futile effort, what I should change, what people would like to see and the like.

I want to know what Dietz was thinking when choosing the toothbrush as a weapon of choice....

Oh, maybe he hurt himself with a toothbrush (as you do) and thought, "damn that sharp that can kill someone", then BOOM, it was Kai Leng with the toothbrush in the library. Mass Effect cluedo ftw

In all seriousness, he broke into the apartment to bug it/install surveilance.

... and then he decided to top it off by eating Anderson's cereal. It's apparently his way of establishing Cerberus dominance.

Because he's an adrenaline junkie like that.

Cool idea. You might want to consider putting this into a Google documents account like the 'Errors' file and the 'Features of Mass Effect 3' file so it is easier for us all to share in your worthy efforts.

My toothbrush isn't sharp. Its the soft bristle kind.

Although my gums did bleed when I brushed this morning.

OH MY GOD, THATS IT.

I just read the prologue and it is better - the actions taken are for more in line with Kai Leng's character, and the auction makes far more sense, though I would maybe have done something else with the turian saint's tears - have Kai Leng know that there are no turian saints and consider that perhaps it's a codename for something else - otherwise it's fairly good. The pacing is a little jittery, and it could use some rewording and tweaking in places, but all in all it is a definite improvement.

Its too hilarious to be suspicious. Ever watch cartoons?

I am a rather huge Anime/Cartoon (lacking a better word here) Nerd. I have never seen the stuff that happens in this book in any of those, not even in the comic relief episodes..

Krogan Hump Jumping, Knify Ninja Action? We got that covered!

Turian Ninja Stealth Field Rickshaws? Right here!

Stabbing an extremely powerful "L3" (lol) Biotic to death with a toothbrush? Of Course!

You forgot the fact that the very same biotic that got killed with a toothbrush( No Leng you are not Jason Bourne) also is autistic  which was oh so conveintently left out ..

Oh and basic elementary math because we all know 12 +3 = 18... lets just start there.

There was a sniper gone rogue in CSI.

He pissed himself rather than lose the shot.
