this is getting really nitpicking, somebody should try to read some of Drew's book and check what did Kai Leng eat, look, ****** or touch and see if is correct within the established lore.

We know we're nitpicking, but that doesn't detract from the fact that there are a ****ton of absolutely horrendous errors.

Interestingly enough, Kai Leng does not eat or unrinate during his appearance in Mass Effect Retribution.

Really? I would've thought his eating and urinating habits would be important points in any story he is in <_<

Due to Deception, who do you want to kill more in Mass 3?

Harbinger, TIM, or Kai Leng?

Sanders still remains top of the list, next is Anderson.

Harbinger is a cartoon which I don't care about.

We already know about all the horrendous errors, and it should be enough, is becoming irritating to see how people tear the book apart over every little detail, is not serious to do that. We already have proof, now we need BioWare to talk.

Except that every little error goes to show how little these guys gave a damn - plus it's fun.

From Retribution:

"I know," Anderson said through gritted teeth as he shoveled a forkful of food into his mouth. "You've told me. Many times."

See, very succint. Food. No Mexican food, no Asari stir-fry, no Salarian curry, no happy bowls. Food.

The difference is one author trying to just tell a story, and other trying to impress us with his capacity for combining words. Dietz tries to be clever, but just comes off as stupid.

*Enter Sandman* by Metallica HAS to be that guy's theme song.

Hell, he probably LOOKS like The Sandman from ECW.

God, this is disturbing.

Sandman from ECW as a turian...

...Actually, that sounds pretty damn awesome!

Awww, you're going to miss the dramatic reading.

Also all of the other complaints.

Speaking of awful quotes, I think this one has been kind of neglected:

That invitation was followed by one from a man who took Gillian’s elbow and tried to steer her into a side passage. “Hey, baby . . . Need a job? Your face ain’t much but that’s a nice body. I can line you up for six humps a day. How’s that sound?”

So what...Dietz made Gillian 18 so guys could make her offers?

Was this on Omega?

If it was I find making her 18 just for that "dialogue" laughable. Since you know, people on the criminal hive of the galaxy totally have standards about that sort of thing.

Could be something simple. I don't think it's public information how much these writing contracts are worth, but could be just that Dietz has "name" and his rates may be really cheap.

People are complaining about his writing style but that's not really the issue. If he spent a little more time getting to know the lore, everything would have been fine. They should either have given him more time or appointed someone familiar with Mass Effect.

I think would should have a "worst-written single line" contest in here. I'll submit this as a contender:

The Illusive Man’s thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a tone.

Well this has to be a joke right? Capt. Obvious to the Rescue -like?

Who am I kidding I already know the answer....

Don't repeat my mistake...

No, this is on the Citadel - in Hu-Town, to be exact.

What was the Happy Bowl quote? It may not be the worst one in there, but it sure has potential for all sorts of memes and images.

Why do you care if other people want to keep discussing it? It's not hurting anyone. I'm still enjoying the reaction of new people when we point out some silly thing to them. And the longer this thread goes on, the more obvious it is to Bioware that there is an issues with the book.

I don't really see why you have any problem with this - it's our free time, and we're free to do what we want with it.

Too late, I'm dropping the subject, happy nitpicking.

Because clearly that's what we wanted in this next installment of the series!

Well, look where their "cheapness" got them.

(I'm not saying that's what happened, but this whole deal really should have been though over better. I think we can all agree.)

Absolutely and this could be a very good exampla of someone taking the safest route, or one that appears to be one. Just think of it in corporate culture where there may be people who aren't gamers at all and don't know about gaming culture a half they CV may claim. They manage resources and find out that there is a need to make a contract with freelance writer to write a tie-up novel to one of company's most important franchises.
So they start looking around and notice that hey, there is this guy, he has written this and that game tie-in novel. He got lot's of experience. Then there are writers whom haven't established their name. Decision needs to look good so experience guy get hired.

Then months pass and in the end we get Deception.

I posted about this earlier, it can be really hilarious but what comes to Dietz, I pity him and I hope you won't mistake me, that can be cruellest thing to say.

Alright, it's still weird because well... I don't...

I am seriously trying to understand why he made Gillian 18 (I know the other characters ages are whacked out too) and it seems like he made her a legal adult just so he could throw in some casual prostitution.

I say again, because the people involved in this kind of thing totally have standard.

And "Hu-Town"?
