They didn't knew Drew would leave to write for KOTOR during when Retribution was penned. I think plan was that Drew would write also the fourth book but then things didn't went as planned.

They might had a contract with a publisher about fourth book already and dealed with it by hiring Dietz. At the same time they probably decided to end certain characters storylines.

even still one would think there  would be  notes and outlines  some what in places  for the fourth installement.  Evven if it was general they could have sent Drew and Email or a text. " hey know you busy with KOTOR but if you have any notes or anything your working for on for next book  could we get them for reference for new author coming in."  

Its like that there was not communation between the two parties... matter of fact..I'm willing to beat there was no communication between parties.

Why didn't Karpyshyn write it? He's an amazing author and the previous books were a really good read. He wouldn't mess this up.

-Edit: Nevermind, just saw that he had no time due to working on Star Wars. I'd rather he stayed on ME rather than SW. F you BioWare. So good at ruining things these days.
