Re Ammo Blocks: I have used up over a thousand rounds on my SMG before on a mission...there's gotta be a way to change them out in the field if you find yourself stranded and needing the extra ammo. It's not like it would be hard to carry around ammunition blocks and replace them since you get so much ammo out of one block.
I didn't find the entry I was looking for (I wonder if it really even exists) but even codex entry I quoted said thousands. I don't have any further information about tech if it can replaced on fied or not handy.

Not sure if you know it, but apparently the unhappiness with Deception has made it to the attention of IGDaily where it was put down to people being upset "over inaccuracies, misspellings and typos", but not because the book is a piece of junk. Although they did funnily report that one person who bought the book burnt his copy after reading it because it was 'that bad'.
Gaming media is in difficult position. Staff probably thinks twice before posting anything too negative and risking getting an interview etc.
True, but then why comment on it at all? They could have just ignored it or if they *had* to say anything just say there was some controversy with fans over the new ME title Deception. It avoids making people who are upset about the book sound like a bunch of nit-picky morons with nothing better to do and they don't have to sweat getting EA upset.

They wanted to say something, they wanted people to know, slow news
day... It was worth to publish, that's the most important thing IMO.

Right then. Guess I am just going to throw my two cents in as well.
I have been a fan of Bioware for years. I love their products, I admire the passion and vigor they pour into their projects, and I have the utmost respect for the hard work they put into making their fans happy and in putting out the best games they possibly can. I can not wait for ME3, I have confidence in it being an amazing, and possibly one of the best games of this generation.
Now, while I generally do not lend much credence to the books, indeed, I view them more as a side dish to a full course meal, a little appetizer to whet the appetite, and thus, nothing to really scrutinize, I do have to say I find the shear lack of regard for characters, canon, and story in Deception to be outright deplorable.
Sure, Gillian, Hendel, and Nick are not in any of the games, they are just characters in these books and I do not really feel much attatchment to them. However, changing the ages for... reasons, I guess, and disregarding Gillian's autism, amongst other things, is just ****** poor writing. I am sorry, but this is unnacceptable.
Worse, I feel, is the treatment of Leng. Let me start by saying that yes, I have read the leaked script, and I personally have been looking greatly forward to Leng's appearance in Mass Effect 3. Finally, a foil, a really awesome, love to hate foil for Shepard, a threat, a character that can go toe to toe with our protagonist...
And he steals people's cereal? What?
And these characters, Gillian especially, that had been being built up for several books now, just die senselessly. Pointlessly. I find it depressing.
So while I have scarcely complained of Bioware or EA's handling of the Mass Effect series, hell, I have been one of their staunchest defenders, I can not, as a fan and as a consumer, support the idiocy that is this novel. If any Bioware representatives read this, I hope they will listen to the very fair requests for this book being made non-canon.
Because the games, the lore, the characters that you guys at Bioware have made are truly great feats of creativity, and you deserve better than this garbage.
Exactly how i feel about it. Hopefully someone upstairs is listening.

I hope so. Because you know what? The people at Bioware work hard. They stay late of their own accord to work on these games and make sure they are the best they can be by release time. Anyone who has played the Mass Effect games can see the creativity and passion that went into making them. That's why we are all here, isn't it? Bioware, please respond. The your most dedicated fans and customers are begging for you to make a statement. I know it's only been a day for you guys but please, the faster the better. Come out and say that Deception isn't cannon and be done with it. You'll still get flack over the novel in gerneral, but at least you'll have the worst of it behind you. I love the Mass Effect franchise, everyone who has posted on this forum loves this franchise. On behalf of everyone, please declare Deception non-cannon.
I imagine they are too busy at the moment. ME3 is about to go gold in the next week or two.

Did they? That seems a little early. Games usually go gold about three weeks before release.

Oh, you haven't heard?
ME3 is going to be delayed because they are working up extra promotional campaign with Kellogg's. Kai Leng cereals with Deception eBook as DLC. I can't hardly wait!

I'd tell you not to joke about delays, but that follow up with Kai Leng cereals is too good man. Nice one.

Anderson? Kellog's? Don't be absurd.
Anderson is most certainly a Capt'n Crunch man.

Exactly, I know if I was in their shows now I would be spitting fire because not was this book disrepectful to us the consumer base. It was something even worst - it was disrepectful to the long hours of work they put in to create the Mass Effect story universe.

They should do it for themselves. Everything we are asking for here, would only help them out in the long run. They themselves have put a such a huge effort into building up this world and its characters etc, please dont stand for the canonical errors in this novel Bioware, or anything like this in the future.

I have no doubt that they are busy, but Bioware personnel that would be in a position to comment on this situation, such as Mac Walters and Casey Hudson, have been Twittering today about articles and videos, with no mention of Deception. They don't have to make a formal announcment at this time, but just a simple "We hear you and we plan to respond when the game is done" would go a long way.

If it wasn't Krogan Krunch that Leng was eating, I'm sure that Anderson at least had a box.
