Better.

At least that way it's only a colossal waste, as opposed to a titanic one.

the only problem we have to subject them to this  atroticus book

Yes.

And I have read Twilight. And it is a horrible piece of literature.

But, if you can believe it, yes, this is actually worse.

I got it!

We can load them up on planes and bomb the commies with these books.

It'd be more effective than nuking them, and without the radioactive fallout!

Is the priiiize at the bottom of the box?

If they'd ever base a movie of Deception, I'd say that they're about equal.

I really hope that will never happen, though. Such an amount of money could help so many starving children and other funding projects instead of putting such a piece of crap on the big screen.

Yeah, they knew about the reaction before the book came out, but now its exploded.

You have to understand that them coming out admitting they made a mistake is bad PR as well as good PR-

Good PR- We'd all thank them for admitting they messed up and made the book non-canon
Bad PR- Admitting they messed up right before the release of ME3 is gonna worry everyone

So they have to handle this precisely, correctly, and delicately, otherwise everything goes to hell.

There's also the issue that they probably don't want to publically ****** on someone with whom they've had a successful working relationship

I don't know about everyone else but if Bioware just said "We goofed, we are sorry. We will enact measures to assure it won't happene again. The book isn't canon(except in broadstrokes if they desire)" I wouldn't need anything else or try to 'punish' Bioware further by more complaining or refusal to buy future products. But the silence is starting to tick me off.

Agreed. That's also the general sense I'm getting from the Mass Effect community.

The only real productive thing they can do up to this point is prevent such disasters in the future. Freelance writers aside, they dropped the ball BIG TIME in the editing department. They could start there.

As for PR, it'll be just words. No matter how sorry or defensive they'll be, Deception won't magically disappear.

It wouldn't be so insulting to read though if we knew it wasn't canon. Maybe sales would pick up?

Deception won't disappear, that's a fact.

But we can change it ourselves if we can get them to make it non-canon.

Not to sound calus but you mean pander to  there ego  instead of ******. Its not like Deitz here is the Peyton Manning of Mass Effect Novels and this has happened with him before so there is a track  record.

At some point  you(as in Bioware) just have to admit that  this was huge mistake from the writer to editing.  One has to seriously question any writer that would even put a book like Deception  forward
even  to  be editted let alone the fact that is made it through the chopping blocks.

They have to be worried about credibility, after all, the mainstream media won't run their ads and they're polling very low amongst the other races <_<
