They were a scruffy-looking bunch who wore face paint, were dressed in mismatched pieces of armor, and rode power skates. They were called the Lightnings and were known for their hit-and-run-style robberies.

Huh...wha...er.......WHAT!? So, Dietz's Omega is basically like being in an unusually violent episode of the 60s Batman series, is what I'm taking away from this. Just.....wow. Power. Skates.

Sounds like he's channeling "The Warriors" to me....

Cereal? Caaaan Yooouuuu Dig It?

The woman with the hair looks like she's certainly a Level 3. I think the little boy might have it in him to become an Adept tho.

The guy at far-right better remember to take his glasses off before charging. I just know he's a vanguard.

Yeah, sorry about the "critically acclaimed" bit guys, I was looking up/posting very late and was trying to say that the books are quality material, I should have gone with a different phrasing.

As for Dietz sentence structure, I'll just go ahead and repost this nice little "poem" he strung us in the middle of a high tension battle sequence.

The slam came without warning. One moment Leng was standing there.
The next he was in the air.
Then came the impact.
Pain lanced up his leg, arrived in his brain,
And then exploded.
Followed by a long fall into nothingness.
And a cessation of pain.
The escape attempt was over.

They aren't even in the same league.

Their leagues are on different continents.

On Dietz's "space station" Omega is shanty towns, wild dogs, rats and cars and limos. Some power skates can't suprise me.  Posted Image

Yep. There's a scene with Kai Leng where a dog is barking and someone is starting a car.

You don't mean wheeled cars, do you?

A baby was crying somewhere nearby, a dog was barking, and the engine noise was louder.

I think it's a gyrocycle engine. Not that it makes the line sound any better. A baby was crying? This just got real.

Actually - yes.

In Dietz's universe is limo with wheels on Omega sign of  wealth. Only problem is, that there is no street near Afterlife, where Aria could use it. Posted Image

Also, wouldn't a varren be more appropriate in that scene? I mean, I'm sure there are dogs out there, but on Omega? Probably not many.

A horn blared as a car came to a screeching halt. Leng dodged around the front of it as one of the guards shouted something unintelligible and gave chase.

Cars have wheels. I'm sure some civilian cars are still wheeled.

But we've never seen roads in Mass Effect before.

Well, other than the Skyway on Feros, but that's not from the current civilizations.

I'm suprised, no one mentioned that killing order on Gillian by TIM.

"Kai, teenager girl between 16 nad 18 want to kill me? (litting tube of tabacco) That's bad, that's really bad. (tapping ash to tray) What if this lonely post-autistic girl with no resources really find me and kill me? (smoking, smoking, smoking)  My God, Kai, you must kill her! Hurry, donť hesitate! Idea behind this novel might be that loose ends must be eliminated, no matter the cost.

I donť think so. Dietz only defile old characters and even create his own loose end, probably with some insane hope, he will write another book. Posted Image

Heh. But it's that Hudson and Walter approved what he did that is giving me a kinda bad vibe.

I think their reasons were purely economic. They need another book before releasing of ME3. Dietz wrote it but it was so awful, that he must rewrote it (there was few months postponement, if I remeber correct), but book is still bad. BTW Dietz even not mentioning it on his FB profile now, speaking only about his own series. Now they must lying about it to sold it in hope, that people buy it with ME3 a and series doesnť become too cold, before someone better then Dietz write another book.

And I hope this theory is more accurate then Hudson and Walter love Dietz's work. Posted Image

Love, anyone in their position... Hudson probably not, Walters, I don't know.

I wonder if there is anything about why Quarians sent the ship to exploration mission at the first place in this book, or did they also somehow forgot why they were out there? Was that subplot eliminated too?
