Although...idk if anyone has ever mentioned this in their threads or not...Bioware got something wrong before during a convention. They claimed the Turians created the Genophage. Ha I laughed at that it was at gamescom right? Someone also misspelled Salarian and instead said Galarian. They should've given that guy credit who said Galarian because thats what their called in the french version. I hate these contest gimmicks

yea...but its awsome when you see the masterminds screw up in public lol...but sometimes I feel its abit sad to be a walking ME wiki.

Oh, just change it to 146*146 and instead of .gif change it to .png and follow the simple steps you did for a normal custom avatar.

Yeah but it will look weird as hell. I'll see if I can resize it / crop anything out so it looks decent.

Masterminds? The person who screwed that up was the marketing director David Silverman. :P

He also called the Quarians "Curians".

Oh crap, I just got an idea of how this travesty slipped through the cracks. Does anyone else think that Silverman might have forced Deception to be published with out actually reviewing it with the devs first?:?

Wow... just... wow. Glad I didn't get this one.

Thanks for the excellent google doc, though. I think I have a new signature.

It's "wrong" in the ME1 codex too, I noticed. (Possibly ME2's, but haven't checked.) That may be deliberate, or maybe ME2 did some retconning in a sneakily backwards-compatible way. Either way, I recall the Turians generally are pointed to during dialogue as well. I imagine the explanation, at least as of ME2, is that the Turians got the flak as its deployers; the Salarians were happy to let them take said flak; and the common misconception continues to be that if any Council race holds primary responsibility for it, it's the Turians.

So, if someone from Bio got it wrong, I'd say they're just really getting in to the lore. ;)

I can't wait to read Karphyshyn's response. I hope he gets the time to read Deception soon.

Damn, I never though I'd wish the ill fate of reading this dreaded book on anyone. :P

I could be wrong but I don't think that the marketing director would be 100% responsible for declaring deadlines and making decsions about auxillory products. I'd really like to know how this was allowed to happen and why though.

I don't care what Dietz have to say, he didn't green light the book, the only got paid for writing it. Karphyshyn is going to claim "I didn't read the book" forever and avoid the subject.

I'm just saying this isn't the first time a marketing department has demanded something and forced out a terrible product as a result. I mean, the Spider Man Clone Saga was preaty much a forced event by Marvel's marketing department in the 90's.
